25 Nigerians Arrested In Spain For ‘Sex Trafficking’

Spanish police say they have

arrested 25 people in a sex-

trafficking ring that brought

women from Nigeria to work as

prostitutes.

The women, allegedly lured

with the promise of good jobs

in Europe, were first flown to

Mexico or Brazil, travelling on

false identity documents.

From there, they were flown to

Paris, then smuggled into Spain

to work in the sex trade, police

say.

Five women who were victims

of the sex ring were freed in the

raids.

Police found one member of the

gang performing an abortion on

one of the five women, reports

the BBC.

Arrests were made across

Spain – in Madrid, Toledo,

Cantabria and Palma de

Mallorca.

More than 100 vans concealing

luxury goods were also seized.

The gang used the vans to

launder their profits and send

them back to Lagos, police

say.

The vans, with dark-tinted

windows and welded doors,

were stocked full of beer but

had luxury items hidden deeper

inside.

Goods worth an estimated 5m

euros (£4.1m; $6.6m) were

found in 94 vans seized in

100 Kidnappers Face Death-Penalty In Edo

OVER one hundred suspected

kidnappers face the death

sentence in Edo State following

the signing into law of the

state kidnapping law by

Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Kidnapping in the state

became worrisome after

hoodlums descended on the

state to a level that even

teachers were being kidnapped

for ransom. Lagos lawyer,

Chief Mike Ozekhome, a Benin

High Court Judge, Justice

Daniel Okungbowa, a chieftain

of the APC, Athanacious

Ugbome, were among those

who suffered from the

kidnappers onslaught along

the Auchi-Abuja road, in Edo

State.

It was later learnt that most of

the evil perpetrated along that

road was executed by a gang

led by a kidnap kingpin, Kelvin

Oniarah Eziegbe, who is

currently facing trial in Abuja.

Ordinarily, Oshiomhole believes

very strongly in the sanctity of

life but on 18 October, shortly

after one of the bloody kidnap

operations, the governor had

no choice than to exercise his

constitutional powers as

governor, by signing into law

the Kidnap Prohibition Law as

amended by the state House of

Assembly.

On that fateful day,

Oshiomhole was in his office

attending to state issues, when

the news filtered in that those

attending Esan Professionals

Conference, scheduled for

Uromi, were kidnapped while

one was killed almost at the

spot where Ozekhome was

kidnapped. Sunday Vanguard

learnt that the suspected

kidnappers, who reportedly

wore police uniforms with

bullet proof vests, stopped the

victims and informed them that

they were under arrest. They

were said to have ordered Mrs

Ekhomu and her children to a

vehicle while the chief

executive officer of Thomas

White Plc. Mr. Emmanuel

Obiyan, and Dr Ekhomu, a

security expert, were pushed to

another vehicle.

The kidnappers headed

towards Sapele. Sunday

Vanguard learnt however that

on realizing that their captors

were kidnappers and not

policemen after he inquired

about the police station they

were being taken to, Dr

Ekhomu held one of the

kidnappers with a gun and

there was a fight. In the

process, Dr. Ekhomu suffered a

gunshot on his hand but he

managed to escape through

the bush.

*Suspected kidnappers

*Suspected kidnappers

Apparently angered by the

Ekhomu resistance, the

kidnappers rained bullets on

Obiyan and abandoned his

body. The gang that held Mrs.

Ekhomu and her children ran

into trouble when men of the

Joint Task Force (JTF) in the

Niger Delta intercepted them

around Sapele and rescued

them. The body of Obiyan was

deposited at the Irrua

Specialist Hospital. The sad

incident occurred on Thursday,

17 October.

Oshiomhole, visibly angry,

came to office at about

7:30am the following day, and

called for the amended kidnap

law file. While this was going

on, appeal came to the state

government to flood the Auchi-

Abuja road with soldiers.

Oshiomhole was particularly

touched that Esan sons and

daughters, who came home

from Europe, America and

other parts of the world for a

meeting, were either kidnapped

or shot dead.

At about 11am, the governor

signed the kidnap bill into law

and urged all those concerned

to ensure full implementation.

The law prescribed death

penalty for

kidnappers.Speaking while

signing the law, the governor

said government would do

everything within its powers to

ensure the safety of lives and

property in the state.

Oshiomhole disagreed with

those who argue that

kidnapping is a result of

unemployment, saying “no one

should try to trivialise very

complex issues”. He said: “We

need coordinated efforts to

deal with the problem of crime

in Nigeria”, lamenting that the

governor does not have the

power to deal with any

security officer who might have

misbehaved or through whose

negligence the people might

have been exposed to any

criminal act.

“At best, we are able to provide

resources and equipment as

we have tried to do within our

limited resources in spite of the

fact that the language, the

letter and the spirit of the

constitution is clear that

security matters are federal

issues which is why the federal

government continues to have

monopoly of the police and of

all the armed forces and the

state security services.

None of these comes under the

control of the state

government. I am convinced

as a matter of fact that the

Federal Government is doing

its best to arm and equip the

police and the other security

agencies. There are no quick-

fix solutions to the issue of

crime. Criminals are not in

limited number that you

exterminate and go and sleep”,

he said.

5 Boko Haram Sectants, 2 Soldiers Killed In Fresh Kano Shootout

Kano - Two soldiers and

five suspected Boko Haram

extremists were killed in

shootouts early Saturday

morning on the outskirts of

Kano. Items recovered

during the operation include

two AK 47 rifles, 458 rounds

of 7.62 special and six AK

47 rifle magazines.

Army Captain Ikedichi

Iweha, spokesman for the

security forces' combined

Joint Task Force, said the

suspects were planning

simultaneous suicide

attacks in the Nigerian

capital Abuja and Kano.

In an email sent to

reporters, Iweha said

"intelligence available

indicates that the terrorists

were in the process of

finalizing plans."

Iweha said security is being

tightened in Kano, amid

fears that insurgents are

fleeing to the city from the

three northeastern states

currently under emergency

rule.

Soldiers and agents of the

Department of Security

Services (DSS) engaged in a

shootout with the terrorist

sect cell during security

raids Hotoro Dan'marke and

Brigade Quarters.

"Sequel to the series of

cordon and search

operations being carried out

by the Joint Task Force

(JTF) and

the men of the DSS in Kano,

complementing the ongoing

operations by troops in the

North Eastern axis of the

country, the JTF wishes to

keep the general public

abreast with developments,"

Iweha, the spokesman, said

via statement.

"In the early hours of

Saturday, 9 November 2013,

at about 0300 hours to be

precise, a combined team of

the JTF and DSS personnel

stormed two residences at

Hotoro Dan Marke and

Brigade general areas. In

the resulting shootout, five

terrorists and two soldiers

lost their lives. Intelligence

available indicates that the

terrorists were in the

process of finalizing plans

to carry out simultaneous

suicide attacks in Abuja and

Kano respectively. Items

recovered during the

operation include two AK 47

rifles, 458 rounds of 7.62

special and six AK 47 rifle

magazines.

"This is due to the

cooperation the JTF is

receiving from members of

the general public. The

recent rise in activities of

members of the terrorist sect

may not be unconnected

with the increase in pressure

being mounted on them by

troops in the North Eastern

axis and their desperation to

make loud statements of

their presence.

"Members of the general

public are therefore enjoined

to go about their normal

businesses without fear as

the JTF has increased its

patrols to cope with the

pressure of the ember

periods and fleeing

terrorists. However,

worrisome is the ease with

which terrorists secure

accommodation easily in

Panshekara, Ja’en, Mariri,

Farawa, Hotoro, Sherada,

Brigade and other outskirt

areas in the state despite

appeals by the JTF to

property owners to desist

from renting their properties

to persons with questionable

identities.

"The JTF in Kano would not

allow the state to be used

as haven for terrorists.

These appeals having fallen

on deaf ears, the JTF would

not only continue to destroy

any such properties which is

found to accommodate

terrorists but will also arrest

the owners of such

properties, treating them as

accomplices even if they do

not reside in the said

property.

"The effort of the JTF would

not be successful without

the cooperation of the

residents of Kano. The JTF

therefore calls on all

residents of Kano not to

relent in the fight against

terrorist elements who are

seeking refuge in the state

by reporting any suspicious

persons regardless of

gender for immediate action

to prevent the loss of lives

and properties. Additionally,

members of the general

public are please enjoined to

go about their lawful

businesses without any fear

and to contact the JTF

through its telephone

numbers in the event of any

distress for rapid response,"

Iweha stated.

What People Do With God's Name These Days –– Charly Boy

The 'Area Fada' has a

new message for people

using God's name

anyhow. Read his piece

below...

My guy, things are

falling apart and the

Center can no longer

hold. People just dey

craze anyhow and

dem go see anyhow.

Jungle don mature,

HA!!! I fit faint. When

I was a little boyin

the city of Peterkwa,

called Port-Harcourt,

I was taught NEVER

to use God’s name

in vain. Nowadays,

everybody just dey

call God name

anyhow dem like.

When Yahoo yahoo

boys dey pray for

good business, dem

go call Him name

before they obtain.

Armed robbers pray,

before they go for an

operation, dem go

hala Him name.

Some of our

governors are using

prayers to confuse

their people as they

plunder the land with

impunity. Bone face

Bragadoooo. Some

of them these days

claim they talk with

God, they claim they

are MEN of God,

they also use God’s

name to obtain big

time from their

congregation.

Several religious wars

have been fought in God’s

name, politicians loot and

run down the country in

God’s name, Kenyan

terrorist attackers paused

for prayers before they

continued their killings, all

they did was done in

God’s name, hideous

criminals operate, relying

on God’s name, great

crimes and atrocities are

committed, all in God’s

name. Chinekee God, are

you there?

Throughout history,

religion has been used as

an excuse or driving force

for some of the worst

atrocities unimaginable.

From prehistory to modern

history, religion is for

many people just an

excuse to kill some

people, obtain from some

people, lie to some

people, and cause all

‘kinda’ katakata, all in the

name of God. This is not

FAIR! Biko!

I was watching CNN the

other day and the news of

the Bishop of Limburg,

Franz-Peter Tebartz-van

Elst popularly called The

BLING Bishop, being

ordered to Rome to

answer to his choice of

mounting an extravagant

new residence complex

which blew out to at least

31 million euros ($42

million). Not too long the

German church had

suffered fallout from a

child sex scandal. Kai!

Madness!

I simply don’t understand

this, using church funds

to enrich ones’ self or

satisfy ones’ selfish

desire. $42 million, what

for? Did he forget that

people contributed this

money, that this money

was hard earned money

worked for by members of

the congregation?

My major concern is why

he wants to destroy the

mission and vision of

Pope Francis, the most

popular Pope since the

history of the Vatican. The

true Man of God the world

has come to love. Which

one we go talk, His

reforms, His Humility, His

Simplicity, His Spirituality,

His exemplary life

according to the

teachings of Jesus Christ,

why this German Bishop

want to pour sand san

into the pope’s “garri”. I

don't know.

These days you will hear

most Pentecostal pastors

talk about how God spoke

to them, how they were

called, how they have

amazing powers, bla bla

bla, how they received the

anointing. How they can

cast and bind, I tire for all

these wash wash pastors.

Some of these men of

very questionable

background and character

are all over the place now.

Telling all who cares to

listen how they drink Tea

with the Almighty God.

Some families have

already been put asunder

because the pastor

somehow is ‘remote

controlling’ wives looking

for the fruit of the womb,

by testing the

merchandise personally.

kai!

They are the real

Abrakadabra in God’s

name. Dem no send. I

don’t know if I’m the only

one confused, but I don’t

see the difference between

pastors and native

doctors any more. If you

are still sane, maybe you

can help me differentiate;

the craze for private jets;

pastors/politicians,

wearing of expensive

suits; pastors/conmen

wearing million dollar

wrist watches; pastors/

conmen, building

expensive schools;

pastors/politicians,

casting, binding and

miracle explosion;

pastors/native doctors,

embezzling public funds;

the list is endless. These

days we don't know the

difference between san

sand and garri. Odikwa

risky. Are these pastors

truly men of God or

business men capitalizing

on people’s frustrations?

What is their original

calling sef, to compete in

worldly riches or to win

souls like it is said?

How can you be living

extravagantly when some

church members can’t

even afford a meal? That

is the height of

wickedness. Enough of

the deceit, enough of

turning the bible upside

down to suit people’s

ears while they suffer in

poverty.

We need spirituality not

religiosity. Even with all

these churches at every

junction and every

bending corner, in every

brothel and hotel, morality

is at an all-time low. The

church should be a place

for spiritual nourishment

and not a kalokalo

venture, or for prosperity

preaching. Pastors should

concentrate more on how

we should all be our

brother’s keepers, rather

than praying for us to be

rich like them. God does

not operate like a

Babalawo, neither is he a

Nigerian.

I am wondering if me too

won’t open my own

church (runs away), but it

will be different because I

will never use Gods name

in vain . All these our so

called Men of God should

come out and hustle like

real men and stop using

psychology to deceive

people and take their

money. Haba!!! I guess

that is their hustle. Where

is the humility that Christ

talked about? If anyone is

not leading by the

examples of Jesus just

like the pope, then his

‘Man-of-god-izm’ is very

questionable. I thought

they said the meaning of

Christianity was to be

Christ- like? I’m just

wondering. Maybe I’m

lost.

Abeg, I rest my case joor.

Man of God my ebony

ass, who dash dem? I am

even a better BOY of GOD

than those MEN OF GOD.

I Beat My Son Bcos Of Football ––One of the Victorious Eaglets Father Reveals

Mr Solomon Awoniyi,

father of one of the

victorious Golden Eaglets’

striker, Taiwo Awoniyi,

has revealed that he used

to beat his son, Taiwo,

seriously to discourage

him from playing football.

Mr Awoniyi told the News

Agency of Nigeria on

Sunday at his Gbagba

residence, in Ilorin, that he

never knew Taiwo would

play football to global

level. He said his son's

football career started

during his elementary

school days, noting that

Taiwo would always

disappear from home to

play football and the

whole family would be

looking for him.

Awoniyi praised the efforts

of Taiwo’s coach, Rasaq

Olojo, whom he said

discovered and nurtured

him.

He said his son was part

of the team that

participated in a Coca-

Cola competition in

Ibadan, which later earned

him a trip to London in

2010, where former

Nigerian football stars

Nduka Ugbade and Seyi

Olofinjana, spotted him.

He said that Taiwo was

voted the most valuable

player and came home

with the award from

London in 2010.

Mr. Awoniyi, a retired

Police Officer, said he was

happy to have watched

his son represent Nigeria

in a world tournament,

despite all the beatings he

got.

Deadly Robber, Prince Nwafor, Caught With Video Recording Of Their Operation

Men of Lagos

Police Command has

arrested a 23yrs old

deadly robber, Prince

Nwafor, with a visual

recording of a robbery

operation that he took part

in. According to police

authorities, the suspect is

part of a robbery gang

that specialises in

snatching vehicles in all

parts of Lagos and selling

them at low prices.

Asked why he

recorded their

robbery operation on

his phone, Prince

Nwafor said: “In the

first robbery

operation I did with

them, we stole two

cars and sold them

at N800,000 . We

were three, which

means I should have

received at least

N250, 000.

Unfortunately, I was

given only

N100,000."

The recording, which was

captured with a camera

phone, showed how

Prince Nwafor and other

members of the gang

robbed a motorist of his

car in an undisclosed

location.

Nwafor told Punch that he

made the recordings so

he could blackmail his

colleagues with it because

they usually cheated him

when sharing their loot

and the recording was

meant to be used as a

leverage to force them to

share the robbery loot

equally.

He said, “I was a

commercial motorcycle

rider but when the Lagos

State Government began

to restrict our operation, I

abandoned the job and

started working as a

labourer at construction

sites in Lagos. However,

the money was too little.

“When I travelled to my

village in Ebonyi State, I

met Kingsley Chibuzor,

who told me that he came

to the state to snatch

some cars and asked me

to join him. Since I

needed money, I joined

his gang. However, they

were always cheating me

when they were sharing

the money.

“During the second

operation in Abakaliki,

they cheated me again.

So the third time, I used

my camera phone to

record the entire

operation. I kept it to be

used as leverage so that if

they cheated me again, I

can use it to blackmail

them.”

Prince Nwafor said things,

however, did not work as

he planned because after

another operation, he was

not contacted by the gang

members. He said after a

lot of efforts, he located

them and discovered that

another member of the

gang, Enebeli Ozoemena,

held his (Nwafor)

N200,000 share.

He said, “We had a big

quarrel and everybody

went their separate ways

until we were arrested by

operatives of the Special

Anti Robbery Squad.”

When asked what he did

with the money he made

from his robberies, the

suspect said, “I went to

Ebonyi State, where I had

my wedding. Weddings

are expensive. Soon after,

my wife gave birth to a

son and we were happy,

but when I left the gang, I

became so broke that I

had to sell some of my

things in order to feed .

“My parents, my wife and

child had been killed

during a communal clash

between Amedo village in

Ebonyi and Adama Village

in Cross River.”

Police Public Relations

Officer, Ngozi Braide, said

some of the stolen

vehicles had been

recovered.

other parts of the world for a

meeting, were either kidnapped

or shot dead.

At about 11am, the governor

signed the kidnap bill into law

and urged all those concerned

to ensure full implementation.

The law prescribed death

penalty for

kidnappers.Speaking while

signing the law, the governor

said government would do

everything within its powers to

ensure the safety of lives and

property in the state.

Oshiomhole disagreed with

those who argue that

kidnapping is a result of

unemployment, saying “no one

should try to trivialise very

complex issues”. He said: “We

need coordinated efforts to

deal with the problem of crime

in Nigeria”, lamenting that the

governor does not have the

power to deal with any

security officer who might have

misbehaved or through whose

negligence the people might

have been exposed to any

criminal act.

“At best, we are able to provide

resources and equipment as

we have tried to do within our

limited resources in spite of the

fact that the language, the

letter and the spirit of the

constitution is clear that

security matters are federal

issues which is why the federal

government continues to have

monopoly of the police and of

all the armed forces and the

state security services.

None of these comes under the

control of the state

government. I am convinced

as a matter of fact that the

Federal Government is doing

its best to arm and equip the

police and the other security

agencies. There are no quick-

fix solutions to the issue of

crime. Criminals are not in

limited number that you

exterminate and go and sleep”,

he said.

5 Boko Haram Sectants, 2 Soldiers Killed In Fresh Kano Shootout

Kano - Two soldiers and

five suspected Boko Haram

extremists were killed in

shootouts early Saturday

morning on the outskirts of

Kano. Items recovered

during the operation include

two AK 47 rifles, 458 rounds

of 7.62 special and six AK

47 rifle magazines.

Army Captain Ikedichi

Iweha, spokesman for the

security forces' combined

Joint Task Force, said the

suspects were planning

simultaneous suicide

attacks in the Nigerian

capital Abuja and Kano.

In an email sent to

reporters, Iweha said

"intelligence available

indicates that the terrorists

were in the process of

finalizing plans."

Iweha said security is being

tightened in Kano, amid

fears that insurgents are

fleeing to the city from the

three northeastern states

currently under emergency

rule.

Soldiers and agents of the

Department of Security

Services (DSS) engaged in a

shootout with the terrorist

sect cell during security

raids Hotoro Dan'marke and

Brigade Quarters.

"Sequel to the series of

cordon and search

operations being carried out

by the Joint Task Force

(JTF) and

the men of the DSS in Kano,

complementing the ongoing

operations by troops in the

North Eastern axis of the

country, the JTF wishes to

keep the general public

abreast with developments,"

Iweha, the spokesman, said

via statement.

"In the early hours of

Saturday, 9 November 2013,

at about 0300 hours to be

precise, a combined team of

the JTF and DSS personnel

stormed two residences at

Hotoro Dan Marke and

Brigade general areas. In

the resulting shootout, five

terrorists and two soldiers

lost their lives. Intelligence

available indicates that the

terrorists were in the

process of finalizing plans

to carry out simultaneous

suicide attacks in Abuja and

Kano respectively. Items

recovered during the

operation include two AK 47

rifles, 458 rounds of 7.62

special and six AK 47 rifle

magazines.

"This is due to the

cooperation the JTF is

receiving from members of

the general public. The

recent rise in activities of

members of the terrorist sect

may not be unconnected

with the increase in pressure

being mounted on them by

troops in the North Eastern

axis and their desperation to

make loud statements of

their presence.

"Members of the general

public are therefore enjoined

to go about their normal

businesses without fear as

the JTF has increased its

patrols to cope with the

pressure of the ember

periods and fleeing

terrorists. However,

worrisome is the ease with

which terrorists secure

accommodation easily in

Panshekara, Ja’en, Mariri,

Farawa, Hotoro, Sherada,

Brigade and other outskirt

areas in the state despite

appeals by the JTF to

property owners to desist

from renting their properties

to persons with questionable

identities.

"The JTF in Kano would not

allow the state to be used

as haven for terrorists.

These appeals having fallen

on deaf ears, the JTF would

not only continue to destroy

any such properties which is

found to accommodate

terrorists but will also arrest

the owners of such

properties, treating them as

accomplices even if they do

not reside in the said

property.

"The effort of the JTF would

not be successful without

the cooperation of the

residents of Kano. The JTF

therefore calls on all

residents of Kano not to

relent in the fight against

terrorist elements who are

seeking refuge in the state

by reporting any suspicious

persons regardless of

gender for immediate action

to prevent the loss of lives

and properties. Additionally,

members of the general

public are please enjoined to

go about their lawful

businesses without any fear

and to contact the JTF

through its telephone

numbers in the event of any

distress for rapid response,"

Iweha stated.

What People Do With God's Name These Days –– Charly Boy

The 'Area Fada' has a

new message for people

using God's name

anyhow. Read his piece

below...

My guy, things are

falling apart and the

Center can no longer

hold. People just dey

craze anyhow and

dem go see anyhow.

Jungle don mature,

HA!!! I fit faint. When

I was a little boyin

the city of Peterkwa,

called Port-Harcourt,

I was taught NEVER

to use God’s name

in vain. Nowadays,

everybody just dey

call God name

anyhow dem like.

When Yahoo yahoo

boys dey pray for

good business, dem

go call Him name

before they obtain.

Armed robbers pray,

before they go for an

operation, dem go

hala Him name.

Some of our

governors are using

prayers to confuse

their people as they

plunder the land with

impunity. Bone face

Bragadoooo. Some

of them these days

claim they talk with

God, they claim they

are MEN of God,

they also use God’s

name to obtain big

time from their

congregation.

Several religious wars

have been fought in God’s

name, politicians loot and

run down the country in

God’s name, Kenyan

terrorist attackers paused

for prayers before they

continued their killings, all

they did was done in

God’s name, hideous

criminals operate, relying

on God’s name, great

crimes and atrocities are

committed, all in God’s

name. Chinekee God, are

you there?

Throughout history,

religion has been used as

an excuse or driving force

for some of the worst

atrocities unimaginable.

From prehistory to modern

history, religion is for

many people just an

excuse to kill some

people, obtain from some

people, lie to some

people, and cause all

‘kinda’ katakata, all in the

name of God. This is not

FAIR! Biko!

I was watching CNN the

other day and the news of

the Bishop of Limburg,

Franz-Peter Tebartz-van

Elst popularly called The

BLING Bishop, being

ordered to Rome to

answer to his choice of

mounting an extravagant

new residence complex

which blew out to at least

31 million euros ($42

million). Not too long the

German church had

suffered fallout from a

child sex scandal. Kai!

Madness!

I simply don’t understand

this, using church funds

to enrich ones’ self or

satisfy ones’ selfish

desire. $42 million, what

for? Did he forget that

people contributed this

money, that this money

was hard earned money

worked for by members of

the congregation?

My major concern is why

he wants to destroy the

mission and vision of

Pope Francis, the most

popular Pope since the

history of the Vatican. The

true Man of God the world

has come to love. Which

one we go talk, His

reforms, His Humility, His

Simplicity, His Spirituality,

His exemplary life

according to the

teachings of Jesus Christ,

why this German Bishop

want to pour sand san

into the pope’s “garri”. I

don't know.

These days you will hear

most Pentecostal pastors

talk about how God spoke

to them, how they were

called, how they have

amazing powers, bla bla

bla, how they received the

anointing. How they can

cast and bind, I tire for all

these wash wash pastors.

Some of these men of

very questionable

background and character

are all over the place now.

Telling all who cares to

listen how they drink Tea

with the Almighty God.

Some families have

already been put asunder

because the pastor

somehow is ‘remote

controlling’ wives looking

for the fruit of the womb,

by testing the

merchandise personally.

kai!

They are the real

Abrakadabra in God’s

name. Dem no send. I

don’t know if I’m the only

one confused, but I don’t

see the difference between

pastors and native

doctors any more. If you

are still sane, maybe you

can help me differentiate;

the craze for private jets;

pastors/politicians,

wearing of expensive

suits; pastors/conmen

wearing million dollar

wrist watches; pastors/

conmen, building

expensive schools;

pastors/politicians,

casting, binding and

miracle explosion;

pastors/native doctors,

embezzling public funds;

the list is endless. These

days we don't know the

difference between san

sand and garri. Odikwa

risky. Are these pastors

truly men of God or

business men capitalizing

on people’s frustrations?

What is their original

calling sef, to compete in

worldly riches or to win

souls like it is said?

How can you be living

extravagantly when some

church members can’t

even afford a meal? That

is the height of

wickedness. Enough of

the deceit, enough of

turning the bible upside

down to suit people’s

ears while they suffer in

poverty.

We need spirituality not

religiosity. Even with all

these churches at every

junction and every

bending corner, in every

brothel and hotel, morality

is at an all-time low. The

church should be a place

for spiritual nourishment

and not a kalokalo

venture, or for prosperity

preaching. Pastors should

concentrate more on how

we should all be our

brother’s keepers, rather

than praying for us to be

rich like them. God does

not operate like a

Babalawo, neither is he a

Nigerian.

I am wondering if me too

won’t open my own

church (runs away), but it

will be different because I

will never use Gods name

in vain . All these our so

called Men of God should

come out and hustle like

real men and stop using

psychology to deceive

people and take their

money. Haba!!! I guess

that is their hustle. Where

is the humility that Christ

talked about? If anyone is

not leading by the

examples of Jesus just

like the pope, then his

‘Man-of-god-izm’ is very

questionable. I thought

they said the meaning of

Christianity was to be

Christ- like? I’m just

wondering. Maybe I’m

lost.

Abeg, I rest my case joor.

Man of God my ebony

ass, who dash dem? I am

even a better BOY of GOD

than those MEN OF GOD.

I Beat My Son Bcos Of Football ––One of the Victorious Eaglets Father Reveals

Mr Solomon Awoniyi,

father of one of the

victorious Golden Eaglets’

striker, Taiwo Awoniyi,

has revealed that he used

to beat his son, Taiwo,

seriously to discourage

him from playing football.

Mr Awoniyi told the News

Agency of Nigeria on

Sunday at his Gbagba

residence, in Ilorin, that he

never knew Taiwo would

play football to global

level. He said his son's

football career started

during his elementary

school days, noting that

Taiwo would always

disappear from home to

play football and the

whole family would be

looking for him.

Awoniyi praised the efforts

of Taiwo’s coach, Rasaq

Olojo, whom he said

discovered and nurtured

him.

He said his son was part

of the team that

participated in a Coca-

Cola competition in

Ibadan, which later earned

him a trip to London in

2010, where former

Nigerian football stars

Nduka Ugbade and Seyi

Olofinjana, spotted him.

He said that Taiwo was

voted the most valuable

player and came home

with the award from

London in 2010.

Mr. Awoniyi, a retired

Police Officer, said he was

happy to have watched

his son represent Nigeria

in a world tournament,

despite all the beatings he

got.

Deadly Robber, Prince Nwafor, Caught With Video Recording Of Their Operation

Men of Lagos

Police Command has

arrested a 23yrs old

deadly robber, Prince

Nwafor, with a visual

recording of a robbery

operation that he took part

in. According to police

authorities, the suspect is

part of a robbery gang

that specialises in

snatching vehicles in all

parts of Lagos and selling

them at low prices.

Asked why he

recorded their

robbery operation on

his phone, Prince

Nwafor said: “In the

first robbery

operation I did with

them, we stole two

cars and sold them

at N800,000 . We

were three, which

means I should have

received at least

N250, 000.

Unfortunately, I was

given only

N100,000."

The recording, which was

captured with a camera

phone, showed how

Prince Nwafor and other

members of the gang

robbed a motorist of his

car in an undisclosed

location.

Nwafor told Punch that he

made the recordings so

he could blackmail his

colleagues with it because

they usually cheated him

when sharing their loot

and the recording was

meant to be used as a

leverage to force them to

share the robbery loot

equally.

He said, “I was a

commercial motorcycle

rider but when the Lagos

State Government began

to restrict our operation, I

abandoned the job and

started working as a

labourer at construction

sites in Lagos. However,

the money was too little.

“When I travelled to my

village in Ebonyi State, I

met Kingsley Chibuzor,

who told me that he came

to the state to snatch

some cars and asked me

to join him. Since I

needed money, I joined

his gang. However, they

were always cheating me

when they were sharing

the money.

“During the second

operation in Abakaliki,

they cheated me again.

So the third time, I used

my camera phone to

record the entire

operation. I kept it to be

used as leverage so that if

they cheated me again, I

can use it to blackmail

them.”

Prince Nwafor said things,

however, did not work as

he planned because after

another operation, he was

not contacted by the gang

members. He said after a

lot of efforts, he located

them and discovered that

another member of the

gang, Enebeli Ozoemena,

held his (Nwafor)

N200,000 share.

He said, “We had a big

quarrel and everybody

went their separate ways

until we were arrested by

operatives of the Special

Anti Robbery Squad.”

When asked what he did

with the money he made

from his robberies, the

suspect said, “I went to

Ebonyi State, where I had

my wedding. Weddings

are expensive. Soon after,

my wife gave birth to a

son and we were happy,

but when I left the gang, I

became so broke that I

had to sell some of my

things in order to feed .

“My parents, my wife and

child had been killed

during a communal clash

between Amedo village in

Ebonyi and Adama Village

in Cross River.”

Police Public Relations

Officer, Ngozi Braide, said

some of the stolen

vehicles had been

recovered.
