Mum of 14 sold her daughters' virginity

A mother of 14 tried to

make ends meet, police

say, by pushing her

into "hell" and

selling their virginity for a

couple of hundred dollars.

Margarita de Jesus Zapata

Moreno, 45, was arrested

this week together with a

51-year-old contractor who

police believe impregnated

one of the young

daughters.

She broke down in tears

when she stood in front of

the cameras after being

arrested in Bogota, the

Colombian capital. The

Bogota Metropolitan Police

say Zapata sold the

virginity of 12 daughters to

much older men seeking to

have sex with young

virgins.

Authorities also say the

suspect would begin selling

her daughters to men as

soon as the girls turned 12

years old. She charged

anywhere between 300,000

and 400,000 Colombian

Pesos ($160 to $212) for a

virgin.

But Zapata strongly denies

the accusation. Colombian

authorities often show

high-profile suspects to the

media shortly after

arresting them. When

Zapata was standing in

front of the cameras

Wednesday, one of the

reporters shouted a

question to her: "Did you

prostitute your daughters?"

She answered: "No, my

darling."

Colombian police say they

learned of this alleged

case of abuse because one

of the alleged victims

stepped forward.

Authorities say one of the

suspect's daughters forced

into prostitution gave birth

to a baby boy when she

was 14. She had refused

her mother's orders to

have an abortion.

Colonel Carlos Melendez, a

Bogota Metropolitan Police

spokesman, told CNN

affiliate Caracol TV the

young girl described to

investigators the "hell" in

which she lived when she

was still a prepubescent

girl, about being forced to

have sex with much older

men in her home and

about a life of abuse and

neglect.

"She was a minor and she

still had the courage to

report the abuse and also

to refuse to have an

abortion. That's when this

investigation started, from

the threats of her own

mother," Melendez said.

The investigation took

more than a year to

complete because the only

witness willing to testify,

the 14-year-old girl, now

16, disappeared,

apparently because she

feared her mother would

kill her for going to the

police.

After she reappeared, she

also told authorities about

a man who had sex with

her and got her pregnant.

Police arrested a 51-year-

old man who investigators

say fathered the son of the

girl who was 14 years old

when the baby was born.

The suspect declined to

comment at Wednesday's

police presentation.

Police are asking the rest

of the daughters to provide

more information about

this case. "Those who are

watching or listening to us,

we would like to ask them

to come to the police so

that they give us

information about

transpired in this case,"

Melendez said.

Police investigators say

Zapata also forced her

older daughters to drink

alcohol and do drugs.

Some ended up working as

prostitutes and are

missing, police said.

Police say those two

arrests are only the

beginning. Investigators

say they will also build

cases against the men who

were having sex with these

minors.

According to authorities,

only two of Margarita de

Jesus Zapata Moreno's 14

children were not forced

into prostitution. They were

the two youngest -- an 11-

year-old boy and a 9-year-

old girl -- and they have

been placed in the custody

of a Colombian

government child

protection agency.

Actress Kemi Afolabi Opens Up On Going Nudé In Movies

The beautiful actress, who
is known for wearing
skimpy dresses, speaks
on her selling point:
One thing I would
say is that, going
nude in movies does
not come with the
job now. What you
need as an actress is
your inspiration and
delivery. That is the
way you are able to
get across to your
fans. Nobody is
going to tell me I
have to wear pant
and bra. It does not
come with the job.
Acting goes beyond
that, to me it is your
expression and how
you are able to get
across to those who
look up to you. It is
a thing of the mind
and the choice we
make.
If it comes to the
character where you have
to act the prostitute...
We have the corporate
prostitutes who do not
expose their body
because that is what they
do. Naturally I don’t like
wearing a lot of things on
my body when I am
home. But that does not
take me to the movie set
and start exposing my
body. Not because I am
married. Sometimes you
need to show some flesh,
like when you are acting
the role where you have
to seduce a man.

Arik plane wings brushed an
Airforce jet parked at the apron

Fake Boko-Haram Member Arrested In Enugu

The Enugu State Command of
the Department of State
Security Services, DSSS, on
Thursday paraded a 35-year-
old man who has been
allegedly defrauding churches
in the country under the
pretense that he is a repented
Boko Haram member.
Director of the DSSS in Enugu
State, Mr. Victor Duru, who
paraded the suspect identified
as Daniel Danboyi, said that
the suspect had been allegedly
collecting money from people
after claiming that he was also
a Muslim converted to
Christianity.
According to him, “He has
been going about with false
testimony, deceiving people
and duping/exploiting them in
the name religion. He claims
that he is a renounced Boko
Haram member who has
converted to Christianity.
“Upon his arrest on 23/8/13,
the suspect claimed he was
invited by a church in Awka
Anambra State (Spoken Word
Church), for a youth
programme, as a guest
speaker.
“On his way back to Yola
Adamawa State on 21st
August 2013, the commercial
bus he boarded broke down at
9th Mile, Enugu State. The
driver refused to refund their
fares and he was stranded. He
called his host, who could not
come to his aid, hence he had
to proceed to Mountain of Fire
and Miracle Church at Zik
Avenue Enugu to solicit for
money/help.
“The suspect has been a serial
liar and deceiver. He is a
Christian and not a Muslim. He
confessed he has never been a
Boko Haram member. His real
name is Daniel Danboyi and
not Shuaibu Shehu Rabiu”.
Duru called on Nigerians “to be
wary of people going about
sharing bogus testimonies,
especially if the intention is to
seek help or get money/favour
or attract sympathy”.
However, when interviewed by
journalists, the suspect, who
looked healthy, stated that he
lied that he was a repented
Boko Haram member to enable
him collect money for
transportation to the North.
The suspect insisted that he
only wanted to collect
transportation, adding that the
vehicle convening them to the
north broke down at Ninth
Mile, Enugu.
Danboyi, who claimed to be a
missionary, disclosed that
before his arrest, he went for a
youth programme at Spoken
Word Church, Awka to deliver a
lecture.
He claimed that when the
vehicle conveying them to the
North broke down, he
contacted a cleric in Spoken
Word Church for money but the
pastor failed to grant his
request.
According to the suspect he
lied at the church in order to
attract pity and favour from the
members.
He admitted to claiming that
he was a repented Boko
Haram member who is now a
Christian, and changed his
name as well to suit the lies.

Primary School Wall Collapses In Ota, Kills Pupil

date: October 24, 2013
The wall of a primary school,
Ketu Adiye Owe Primary School,
Ado Odo/Ota local government
area of Ogun state, South West
Nigeria has collapsed, killing a
pupil with four others
sustaining injuries.
The affected classroom, located
in an erosion-prone area within
the school compound
reportedly caved in, while the
children were observing their
break time.
The injured pupils were said to
have been treated in a private
hospital before the Local
Government Council Chairman,
Comrade Rotimi Rahmon,
rushed to the school premises
shortly after the incident, and
directed that they should be
taken to the General Hospital.
The local
government chairman, who
expressed regrets over the
unfortunate incident, also
directed that the standing wall
of the affected classroom be
brought down immediately.
He also directed all school
headmasters in the LGA to
ensure that any structure or
object that can endanger pupils
are removed from school
premises.
He appealed to all residents of
the local government to
maintain peace as the
government would continue to
act in the best interest of the
people.

FG To Spend N457bn On Power Transmission Infrastructure -

The Federal Government will
spend $2.86bn (N457.6bn)
between now and 2017 in
order to give the nation a
power transmission
infrastructure that can carry
16,000 megawatts of
electricity.
The Minister of Information,
Mr. Labaran Maku, said this
in Abuja on Tuesday at a
news conference on the
performance of the
economy, especially
following the successful
sale of the Power Holding
Company of Nigeria’s
successor companies.
Maku said a transmission
expansion blue print
prepared by the Presidential
Action Committee on Power
had committed the
government to a
transmission capacity of
16,000MW.
He said the government
was committed to funding
the programme, which will
cost $2.86bn, listing the
sources of funding as the
African Development Bank,
$150m; World Bank, $290m;
and Eurobond of $150m.
Other funding sources are a
$500m loan from the China
Export Import Bank;
proceeds from the sale of
the National Integrated
Power Plants, $1.6bn; and
budgetary appropriation,
$170m.
Announcing that the end of
darkness was near in
Nigeria, Maku said different
steps taken by the
government would soon
begin to yield results, but
pleaded with the citizens to
exercise some patience as
time was still needed to
usher in a new era.
He said, “The distribution
companies are going to
ensure that there are
meters and the meters will
be prepaid so that nobody
will come and charge you
for darkness, which was the
case in the past. You buy
your credit and when it
finishes, your light goes off.
You don’t need anybody to
come and disconnect you.
“You can be sure now that
you will pay for every light
you use. People will ensure
that they put off light that
they don’t need. The
importance of this is that
the power you don’t use will
go to the industry. When
you waste electricity, it is a
national waste, not just to
the person that is paying for
it. If you save it, it goes into
production.
“Government will subsidise
power for the poor people.
The rural dwellers and poor
urban dwellers; there is a
subsidy for you. In the
course of the new tariff,
which will come in the
beginning of the market, the
tariff will not take electricity
beyond the capacity of the
poor people. It is the bridge
to ensure that everybody
has access to electricity.”

Shocking: Teenage Driver Crushes Toddler In Lagos -

When three-year-old Ikeoluwa
Olaniyi was playing with her
friends in her grandfather’s
compound in Ire Akari Estate,
Isolo, Lagos, on September 3,
2013, little did she know that
death was lurking. PUNCH
Metro learnt that a teenage
motorist, Chinyere Wagbaranta,
in company with her brother,
Chisom, and a police corporal
attached to Police Mobile Force
22, Felix Adebayo, in a
Mercedes Benz Sports Utility
Vehicle, drove into the
compound carelessly, hitting
the little girl and crushing her
skull.
The victim’s grandfather,
Adesola Elegbede, who spoke
to our correspondent while
fighting back tears, said
Ikeoluwa was his first
grandchild. He said, “Ikeoluwa
lives with me and my wife. Her
father works in a bank and her
mother works with an
accounting firm, which are both
located on Victoria Island.
Ikeoluwa attends a school in
Ilasa, which is not far from our
house. She stays with her
parents during the weekend.
“On the day of the incident, I
came in and saw her eating
yam just outside the main door
and told her to go inside. A few
minutes later, I wanted to go to
my friend who lives a few
houses away from mine and
Ikeoluwa attempted to follow
me but she met some of her
friends playing in the
compound so she joined them.
“A few minutes later, I heard a
loud scream that Ikeoluwa had
been crushed by a vehicle in
the compound. I ran to the
scene and observed that the
side of her head had been
crushed. I saw the vehicle that
hit her but the occupants had
fled. I carried my
granddaughter to Good Health
Hospital, where she was
declared dead.” Elegbede said
he immediately ran to the Isolo
Police Division to report the
matter and it was there that he
met the culprits. He said
Chinyere drove recklessly into
the compound because she
was on a mission to fight one
of his neighbours. He said, “I
was told that Chinyere and her
brother hired the Police Mobile
Force member, who is attached
to a bank in the area, to escort
them to our compound to fight
one of my neighbour’s children.
“They drove recklessly from Ire
Akari Road into my compound
and after crushing my little girl,
the armed MOPOL aided them
in escaping from the scene.”
The grandfather said four days
after the incident, Chinyere’s
parents, in company with the
Divisional Police Officer, Isolo,
Adamu Ibrahim, and a chief in
the area came to apologise
over the incident, urging him
not to pursue the case.
Elegbede, however, berated the
police for not handling the case
professionally. He said, “When
they came to visit me four days
later, I was shocked that the
DPO escorted them to my
place. Why should the DPO be
pleading on their behalf, telling
me it was the will of God?
Anyway, I told them to go and
beg Ikeoluwa’s parents
because I am not her father.
“On September 9, the DPO
called me again saying the
Area D Commander at Mushin
wanted to see all the parties
involved but on getting there,
the DPO told us to return to his
own station. “When I noticed
that the case was not being
handled properly, I asked the
DPO to transfer the matter to
the State Criminal Investigation
Department, Yaba, but he
refused to do this. “I am aware
that Chinyere is 18 years old
and is an adult. I have already
started hearing that the police
want to manipulate her age, get
her a fake affidavit and give her
a soft-landing. I will not accept
this.” The victim’s grandfather
said life had not been the same
since the incident occurred.
While pointing to the spot
where his granddaughter’s
blood was shed, he said, “I
cannot believe this. We are still
in shock. Her mother has had
to take leave from work and
travel out of the country to take
her mind off things. Imagine us
losing such a pleasant and
brilliant girl?” When contacted
on the telephone, the Police
Public Relations Officer, Lagos
State Police Command, Ngozi
Braide, confirmed the accident
to our correspondent. Braide
said the matter was reported as
a fatal car accident and that
Chinyere had been charged to
court.

How Mr Enedo from Anambra Killed His Mum for Money Rituals

Men of the Nigerian Police Force
have arrested a man identified
as Mr Tonna Enedo for killing
his own mother for the purpose
of money-making rituals.
Confessing to the crime, Mr
Enedo said:
“I was asked by the chief
priest of the society that if I
wanted to be rich, I should
go and have fun with a mad
woman. I should also go
and sleep with a body for
seven hours ; I should fast
for seven days dry.
"I was told that I would first
kill my father and the last
stage is that I will go mad
and after I might have
completed all the condition,
I will become the richest
man in Africa, if not in the
whole world.”
Mr Enedo blamed his action on
his quest to make money at all
cost. He said he has already
slept in a mortuary for seven
hours as one of the conditions
for the money-making rituals.
He was arrested by policemen
deployed from the Obosi Police
Division in Anambra state. Enedo
hails from Obosi in Idemili North

on her head that he realised he
had killed the woman he loved
most.
Now his money rituals venture
has been canceled as he will be
prosecuted for his crime. Really
sad!

30 Gunmen Storm Palace At Mid- Night, Kidnap Monarch

The setting was like that
of a war film on Tuesday
as the Paramount Ruler of
Esit Eket Local
Government Area of Akwa
Ibom State, Ubong Assam,
was abducted by no fewer
than 30 gunmen, who
stormed his palace
around 2am and operated
without challenge.
The kidnap, it was learnt,
might be in connection
with a N2.6 billion
compensation paid by
ExxonMobil to the four
host local government
communities. The money
has been generating
tension in the area.
The kidnappers took the
royal father to Unyeghe
village, Mbo Local
Government Area in a car,
transferred him to a
waiting speedboat and left
for the high seas.
Although the security
personnel attached to the
royal father attempted to
rescue him, the
kidnappers’ superior fire
power won the day.
According to a source, the
kidnappers are demanding
for N150million ransom
before the Monarch would
be release, as their share
of the compensation
money, which they
claimed they joined in
agitating for.
A family source said:
“Some of the gun shots
sounded like bomb blasts.
The operation was like an
invasion.”
The Nigeria Police in
Akwa Ibom state say they
are on top of the situation
but the whereabouts of
the Monarch remains
unknown as at the time of
reporting.

Robber Takes Car To Pastor For Blessing, Police Nab Him In Church

Robber takes car to pastor for
blessing, police nab him in
church
By TheHerald Admin on
October 21, 2013
A man, Yinka Oyeniran, who
was nabbed after he kept a
Toyota Camry snatched by his
gang members in a church has
been remanded in prison
custody after his case was
charged to court last Friday.
Forty-five-year old Oyeniran
was arraigned in Magistrates’
Court 2, Iyaganku, on a two-
count charge of conspiracy and
robbery. He was accused of
conspiring with others at large
to dispossess a woman of her
Toyota Camry car with
registration number LSR 292 AT
in Ibadan, along with other
valuables.
Oyo State Police Public
Relations Officer, Olabisi
Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, had told
journalists recently that
Oyeniran was arrested in his
church in Gbongan, Osun State
through the collaborative
efforts of policemen from Oyo
and Osun States who laid
ambush for him after they
traced a car that was snatched
in Ibadan, Oyo State, to the
church premises.
Though Oyeniran attended
church regularly and deceived
members of his church at
Akinlalu junction in Gbongan,
that he was a fervent and
devout Christian, God proved to
him that He cannot be mocked
as his criminal acts became
exposed through the car he
kept in the church premises.
Oyeniran, an indigene of
Gbongan but who farms in
Modakeke town, also in Osun
State, had told his pastor and
members of the congregation to
rejoice with him over the
purchase of a Tokunbo Toyota
Camry car. Unknown to the
pastor, however, Oyeniran and
his four-member gang had
snatched the car from a woman
in Ibadan.
Crime Reports gathered that the
four-man gang which operated
with the use of motorcycles,
trailed their victim from a
fellowship centre to her
residence at Kute Wofun area of
the city with an unregistered
red Honda motorcycle on
August 10 at 9p.m., and
robbed her of the car valued at
N1.3million.
Not only that, the armed
robbers reportedly collected the
woman’s handsets, handbag,
Blackberry valued N67,000,
jewellery valued at N100,000
and a sum of N120,000 cash.
Unfortunately for the armed
robbers, the car was tracked to
Oyeniran’s church where he hid
it. Crime Reports learnt that
Oyeniran was forced to push
the car into the church
premises when it stopped
working after it was
demobilised.
In an interview with Crime
Reports when the accused was
paraded by the Oyo State
Police Command, he mentioned
his gang members as Taiye
Victor, Tunde, an okada rider
and another man whose name
he claimed he did not know.
The accused also revealed that
he had gone for robbery on two
or three occasions but denied
ever using a gun, saying that
the guns they were using
belonged to other members.
Describing how the operation
was carried out, Oyeniran had
said that it was Taiye who held
the gun while he held a pipe
they used in threatening their
victim. He also said he was the
one who collected their victim’s
money, handsets as well as car
key while Taiye demanded for
the original documents of the
car and removed its number
plates. He however said he tore
the documents into shreds and
threw them into the bush on
the way to Gbongan so as to
avoid the scrutiny of policemen
on the highway.
Before Oyeniran confessed his
deeds, he had initially denied
snatching the car, telling the
police that he bought the
vehicle for N1million from Taiye
who purchased it from Cotonou
in Republic of Benin. The
accused said he paid N200,000
upfront and gave an additional
N300,000 when the car was
brought, claiming that he was
still owing Taiye a balance of
N500,000.
Other items recovered from the
suspect, according to the
PPRO, included  one
unregistered red Honda
motorcycle, one red Nissan
Sunny car with registration
number AP 406 SGB, a bunch of
keys and a rectum cable wire
The sitting magistrate in Court
2, Mrs Oyediran, ordered that
the accused be remanded in
prison custody and adjourned
the case till November 19,
2013.

ASUU Replies Jonathan: Your Begging Won't End This Strike

The Academic Staff Union
of Universities, ASUU, has
turned down President
Goodluck Jonathan’s plea
for the lecturers to end
their strike of over 110
days old.
ASUU does not need
any plea from Mr
President, we are not
asking for impossible
things. The
Government reached
an agreement with
us and we are
asking them to
honour it. It is so
simple.
“Our country has the
resources to honour
the agreement but
education is not
given priority. The
Minister of Aviation
(Mrs Stella Oduah)
just got two
bulletproof cars
bought for N255m by
an agency under her
supervision . So, who
do you want to tell
that this country
does not have the
resources?
“Government should be
honourable. Is it
honourable not to honour
an agreement? Certainly
no. The Federal
Government should not
allow the public
universities to continue to
degenerate. Posterity will
not forgive us if we allow
public universities to
totally collapse.
“We won’t allow public
universities to be
destroyed. That is why
they are establishing
private universities all
over the country with the
nation’s money. Except
those owned by the
missionaries, tell me
which of the private
universities was not
established with the
nation’s resources?”
These were the words of
ASUU Chairman, Obafemi
Awolowo University, Ile
Ife, Prof. Adegbola
Akinola.
The ASUU chief warned
that children from poor
homes might no longer
have access to university
education if the union
should succumb to the
blackmail being employed
against it by the
government.

Exposed: Stella Oduah Forced NAMA To Buy 4 VIP Limousines and 4 Exotic Cars

This woman, Mrs. Stella
Oduah, is really proving
that there is no
accountability in Nigeria:
When contacted on the
discovery, confronted with
the facts, Mr. Supo
Atobatele, NAMA
spokesman, denied the
existence of the stretch
limos, claiming that
NAMA is a “professional
agency” that provides
navigational aid to
aircrafts flying within
Nigeria’s airspace.
But as soon as he was
told that pictures of the
Limousines have been
taken from the secret
location where they are
kept, the man hung up
and switched off his
phone immediately...
A fresh investigation
by Sahara
Reporters reveals that the
National Airspace
Management Agency,
NAMA, another agency
under the
Aviation Ministry, also
purchased four exotic
Toyota Tundra cars for
the Minister, Mrs. Stella
Oduah. The exotic Toyota
Tundras are in addition to
four stretch limousine
cars (pictured above) that
were allegedly purchased
for the movement of VIPs
on the orders of Mrs
Stella Oduah.
Sahara Reporters obtained
the photos of the
Limousines, which were
parked at the
headquarters of the Total
Radar Coverage of Nigeria
(TRACON) grounds in
Abuja.
NAMA’s CEO, Nnamdi
Udo, reportedly made the
purchase and ‘donation’
of the Tundras to the
Minister in June 2013.
The four Limousines were
received in the third week
of June but have never
been put to use.
Unfortunately, at the end
of Goodluck Jonathan's
administration,

REVEALED! Stella Oduah Got N112m Bribe for the N255m Cars

As the minister of aviation
began a new spin today
that the two BMW
armored cars purchased
by the Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority (NCAA)
for her use were done on
"hire-purchase", Sahara
Reporters has again
unearthed new details
about the $1.6 million
spent by the Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority to
purchase the armored
BMW cars for Mrs Stella
Oduah.
A highly reliable source
has told SaharaReporters
that the shady deal for the
car was done entirely
between Coscharis Motors
Limited, one of Ms.
Oduah’s private firms
based in Abuja and First
Bank of Nigeria.
" The NCAA was not
even aware of the
deal until the
minister told them to
sign that they had
received two BMW
cars ," said our
source.
After inking the deal,
Coscharis Motors, sellers
of the highly inflated
automobiles, reportedly
gave the Aviation Minister
more than N112 million as
kickbacks. Our source
added that Cosmas
Maduka, who owns
Coscharis Motors, pocked
N60 million for each of
the two BMW cars.
An official at the NCAA
corroborated the
information that the
agency was largely kept
in the dark about the
transaction. “We were
never privy to the
transaction and had not
seen the cars even though
our head of transport was
made to sign the delivery
note,” said the source.
The source added that the
agency has still not seen
the cars even after the
scandal escalated.
Last week, an official of
the NCAA, Fola Akinkuotu,
spoke to the media and
defended the purchase of
the cars. Mr. Akinkuotu
said the cars were for the
ministry’s protocol pool
for use in transporting
foreign aviation dignitaries
when they visit Nigeria.
His explanation conflicted
with the original statement
by the minister’s
spokesman, Mr. Obi, who
had claimed that the cars
were for Stella Oduah's
safety.
A source at the NCAA
disclosed that Mr.
Akinkuotu felt tricked into
facing the media on the
scandal. “He had been
told he would only appear
beside the embattled
minister, who was
supposed to speak.
Instead, he was asked to
speak,” said the source.
Meanwhile, a source at
the Presidency said
President Goodluck
Jonathan is not bothered
at all about the fraud
perpetrated by Stella
Oduah, his Aviation
Minister. Ms. Oduah had
played significant roles in
raising money and
disbursing same to help
Jonathan win the 2011
presidential elections.
Several Nigerians and
diplomats have registered
their displeasure at
Jonathan’s continued
retention of Oduah on his
cabinet but he has
refused to take any action
and the woman is still in
office.

Oyedepo made the remark at
the institution’s 11th Founder’s
Day celebration in Ota.
According to him, the university
has since inception in 2002,
focused on actualising its
mandate, which is primarily to

Sir, I Want To Come & See You ––Stella Oduah Begs Jonathan

The embattled Minister of
Aviation, Ms. Stella
Oduah, has commenced a
high-powered lobbying to
get into a room with
President Goodluck
Jonathan with a view to
beg him to forgive her
and save her job.
She tried using former
President Olusegun
Obasanjo to beg Jonathan
to forgive her but
Obasanjo turned her
down, saying he can't get
himself involved in an
obvious act of corruption.
Stella Oduah, sensing that
she has bitten more than
she can shew, then
rushed to Aso Rock to
personally beg
Jonathan...
She was sighted at the
Presidential Villa in Abuja
late on Friday but
Jonathan ignored her. A
presidency top source
confirmed Stella Oduah’s
visit to the Villa.
According to the source,
Oduah “wanted to explain
herself to the President
who, like every Nigerian,
was embarrassed by the
media reports and the
evidence of the purchase
of the two cars at an
outrageous sum of
N225m.”
The source said, “She was
here (Villa) on Friday but
like you know, Mr.
President was busy
throughout the weekend.”
Meanwhile, indications
have emerged that
Jonathan is set to probe
Stella Oduah over the
N255m car and all other
transactions he has
trusted her with in the
past. This is because
Jonathan used to believe
that she is one of the best
ministers he had until this
monumental fraud was
uncovered.
Meanwhile, Ms. Oduah is
expected to appear before
the Senate as the Senate
resumes plenary on
Tuesday.

Mum of 14 sold her daughters' virginity

A mother of 14 tried to

make ends meet, police

say, by pushing her

into "hell" and

selling their virginity for a

couple of hundred dollars.

Margarita de Jesus Zapata

Moreno, 45, was arrested

this week together with a

51-year-old contractor who

police believe impregnated

one of the young

daughters.

She broke down in tears

when she stood in front of

the cameras after being

arrested in Bogota, the

Colombian capital. The

Bogota Metropolitan Police

say Zapata sold the

virginity of 12 daughters to

much older men seeking to

have sex with young

virgins.

Authorities also say the

suspect would begin selling

her daughters to men as

soon as the girls turned 12

years old. She charged

anywhere between 300,000

and 400,000 Colombian

Pesos ($160 to $212) for a

virgin.

But Zapata strongly denies

the accusation. Colombian

authorities often show

high-profile suspects to the

media shortly after

arresting them. When

Zapata was standing in

front of the cameras

Wednesday, one of the

reporters shouted a

question to her: "Did you

prostitute your daughters?"

She answered: "No, my

darling."

Colombian police say they

learned of this alleged

case of abuse because one

of the alleged victims

stepped forward.

Authorities say one of the

suspect's daughters forced

into prostitution gave birth

to a baby boy when she

was 14. She had refused

her mother's orders to

have an abortion.

Colonel Carlos Melendez, a

Bogota Metropolitan Police

spokesman, told CNN

affiliate Caracol TV the

young girl described to

investigators the "hell" in

which she lived when she

was still a prepubescent

girl, about being forced to

have sex with much older

men in her home and

about a life of abuse and

neglect.

"She was a minor and she

still had the courage to

report the abuse and also

to refuse to have an

abortion. That's when this

investigation started, from

the threats of her own

mother," Melendez said.

The investigation took

more than a year to

complete because the only

witness willing to testify,

the 14-year-old girl, now

16, disappeared,

apparently because she

feared her mother would

kill her for going to the

police.

After she reappeared, she

also told authorities about

a man who had sex with

her and got her pregnant.

Police arrested a 51-year-

old man who investigators

say fathered the son of the

girl who was 14 years old

when the baby was born.

The suspect declined to

comment at Wednesday's

police presentation.

Police are asking the rest

of the daughters to provide

more information about

this case. "Those who are

watching or listening to us,

we would like to ask them

to come to the police so

that they give us

information about

transpired in this case,"

Melendez said.

Police investigators say

Zapata also forced her

older daughters to drink

alcohol and do drugs.

Some ended up working as

prostitutes and are

missing, police said.

Police say those two

arrests are only the

beginning. Investigators

say they will also build

cases against the men who

were having sex with these

minors.

According to authorities,

only two of Margarita de

Jesus Zapata Moreno's 14

children were not forced

into prostitution. They were

the two youngest -- an 11-

year-old boy and a 9-year-

old girl -- and they have

been placed in the custody

of a Colombian

government child

protection agency.

Actress Kemi Afolabi Opens Up On Going Nudé In Movies

The beautiful actress, who
is known for wearing
skimpy dresses, speaks
on her selling point:
One thing I would
say is that, going
nude in movies does
not come with the
job now. What you
need as an actress is
your inspiration and
delivery. That is the
way you are able to
get across to your
fans. Nobody is
going to tell me I
have to wear pant
and bra. It does not
come with the job.
Acting goes beyond
that, to me it is your
expression and how
you are able to get
across to those who
look up to you. It is
a thing of the mind
and the choice we
make.
If it comes to the
character where you have
to act the prostitute...
We have the corporate
prostitutes who do not
expose their body
because that is what they
do. Naturally I don’t like
wearing a lot of things on
my body when I am
home. But that does not
take me to the movie set
and start exposing my
body. Not because I am
married. Sometimes you
need to show some flesh,
like when you are acting
the role where you have
to seduce a man.

Two Planes Collide At Lagos Airport

There was a minor accident
Friday at the Murtala
Muhammed International
Airport, Lagos involving a
Turkish Airline aircraft and a
Max Air plane. The Turkish
Airline plane wings collided
with that of Max Air plane
which had brought in Pilgrims
from Saudi Arabia.
Airport sources said the Turkish
Airplane had landed safely but
was taxing to stop at the
apron, when its wing collided
with that of Max Air.
The collision resulted in minor
damages to both airplanes and
they have been taken away for
repairs.
When contacted , Mr. Fan
Ndubuoke, spokesman for
Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority
(NCAA) confirmed the incident.
He however said damages to
the aircraft belonging to both
airlines are minor and that both
planes have been taken away
for repairs.
It will be recalled that there
was a similar incident last year
in Jos, Plateau State when an
Arik plane wings brushed an
Airforce jet parked at the apron
when the plane was taxing to
stop .
There was no casualty in the
incident but only damages to
both planes.

Fake Boko-Haram Member Arrested In Enugu

The Enugu State Command of
the Department of State
Security Services, DSSS, on
Thursday paraded a 35-year-
old man who has been
allegedly defrauding churches
in the country under the
pretense that he is a repented
Boko Haram member.
Director of the DSSS in Enugu
State, Mr. Victor Duru, who
paraded the suspect identified
as Daniel Danboyi, said that
the suspect had been allegedly
collecting money from people
after claiming that he was also
a Muslim converted to
Christianity.
According to him, “He has
been going about with false
testimony, deceiving people
and duping/exploiting them in
the name religion. He claims
that he is a renounced Boko
Haram member who has
converted to Christianity.
“Upon his arrest on 23/8/13,
the suspect claimed he was
invited by a church in Awka
Anambra State (Spoken Word
Church), for a youth
programme, as a guest
speaker.
“On his way back to Yola
Adamawa State on 21st
August 2013, the commercial
bus he boarded broke down at
9th Mile, Enugu State. The
driver refused to refund their
fares and he was stranded. He
called his host, who could not
come to his aid, hence he had
to proceed to Mountain of Fire
and Miracle Church at Zik
Avenue Enugu to solicit for
money/help.
“The suspect has been a serial
liar and deceiver. He is a
Christian and not a Muslim. He
confessed he has never been a
Boko Haram member. His real
name is Daniel Danboyi and
not Shuaibu Shehu Rabiu”.
Duru called on Nigerians “to be
wary of people going about
sharing bogus testimonies,
especially if the intention is to
seek help or get money/favour
or attract sympathy”.
However, when interviewed by
journalists, the suspect, who
looked healthy, stated that he
lied that he was a repented
Boko Haram member to enable
him collect money for
transportation to the North.
The suspect insisted that he
only wanted to collect
transportation, adding that the
vehicle convening them to the
north broke down at Ninth
Mile, Enugu.
Danboyi, who claimed to be a
missionary, disclosed that
before his arrest, he went for a
youth programme at Spoken
Word Church, Awka to deliver a
lecture.
He claimed that when the
vehicle conveying them to the
North broke down, he
contacted a cleric in Spoken
Word Church for money but the
pastor failed to grant his
request.
According to the suspect he
lied at the church in order to
attract pity and favour from the
members.
He admitted to claiming that
he was a repented Boko
Haram member who is now a
Christian, and changed his
name as well to suit the lies.

Primary School Wall Collapses In Ota, Kills Pupil

date: October 24, 2013
The wall of a primary school,
Ketu Adiye Owe Primary School,
Ado Odo/Ota local government
area of Ogun state, South West
Nigeria has collapsed, killing a
pupil with four others
sustaining injuries.
The affected classroom, located
in an erosion-prone area within
the school compound
reportedly caved in, while the
children were observing their
break time.
The injured pupils were said to
have been treated in a private
hospital before the Local
Government Council Chairman,
Comrade Rotimi Rahmon,
rushed to the school premises
shortly after the incident, and
directed that they should be
taken to the General Hospital.
The local
government chairman, who
expressed regrets over the
unfortunate incident, also
directed that the standing wall
of the affected classroom be
brought down immediately.
He also directed all school
headmasters in the LGA to
ensure that any structure or
object that can endanger pupils
are removed from school
premises.
He appealed to all residents of
the local government to
maintain peace as the
government would continue to
act in the best interest of the
people.

FG To Spend N457bn On Power Transmission Infrastructure -

The Federal Government will
spend $2.86bn (N457.6bn)
between now and 2017 in
order to give the nation a
power transmission
infrastructure that can carry
16,000 megawatts of
electricity.
The Minister of Information,
Mr. Labaran Maku, said this
in Abuja on Tuesday at a
news conference on the
performance of the
economy, especially
following the successful
sale of the Power Holding
Company of Nigeria’s
successor companies.
Maku said a transmission
expansion blue print
prepared by the Presidential
Action Committee on Power
had committed the
government to a
transmission capacity of
16,000MW.
He said the government
was committed to funding
the programme, which will
cost $2.86bn, listing the
sources of funding as the
African Development Bank,
$150m; World Bank, $290m;
and Eurobond of $150m.
Other funding sources are a
$500m loan from the China
Export Import Bank;
proceeds from the sale of
the National Integrated
Power Plants, $1.6bn; and
budgetary appropriation,
$170m.
Announcing that the end of
darkness was near in
Nigeria, Maku said different
steps taken by the
government would soon
begin to yield results, but
pleaded with the citizens to
exercise some patience as
time was still needed to
usher in a new era.
He said, “The distribution
companies are going to
ensure that there are
meters and the meters will
be prepaid so that nobody
will come and charge you
for darkness, which was the
case in the past. You buy
your credit and when it
finishes, your light goes off.
You don’t need anybody to
come and disconnect you.
“You can be sure now that
you will pay for every light
you use. People will ensure
that they put off light that
they don’t need. The
importance of this is that
the power you don’t use will
go to the industry. When
you waste electricity, it is a
national waste, not just to
the person that is paying for
it. If you save it, it goes into
production.
“Government will subsidise
power for the poor people.
The rural dwellers and poor
urban dwellers; there is a
subsidy for you. In the
course of the new tariff,
which will come in the
beginning of the market, the
tariff will not take electricity
beyond the capacity of the
poor people. It is the bridge
to ensure that everybody
has access to electricity.”

Shocking: Teenage Driver Crushes Toddler In Lagos -

When three-year-old Ikeoluwa
Olaniyi was playing with her
friends in her grandfather’s
compound in Ire Akari Estate,
Isolo, Lagos, on September 3,
2013, little did she know that
death was lurking. PUNCH
Metro learnt that a teenage
motorist, Chinyere Wagbaranta,
in company with her brother,
Chisom, and a police corporal
attached to Police Mobile Force
22, Felix Adebayo, in a
Mercedes Benz Sports Utility
Vehicle, drove into the
compound carelessly, hitting
the little girl and crushing her
skull.
The victim’s grandfather,
Adesola Elegbede, who spoke
to our correspondent while
fighting back tears, said
Ikeoluwa was his first
grandchild. He said, “Ikeoluwa
lives with me and my wife. Her
father works in a bank and her
mother works with an
accounting firm, which are both
located on Victoria Island.
Ikeoluwa attends a school in
Ilasa, which is not far from our
house. She stays with her
parents during the weekend.
“On the day of the incident, I
came in and saw her eating
yam just outside the main door
and told her to go inside. A few
minutes later, I wanted to go to
my friend who lives a few
houses away from mine and
Ikeoluwa attempted to follow
me but she met some of her
friends playing in the
compound so she joined them.
“A few minutes later, I heard a
loud scream that Ikeoluwa had
been crushed by a vehicle in
the compound. I ran to the
scene and observed that the
side of her head had been
crushed. I saw the vehicle that
hit her but the occupants had
fled. I carried my
granddaughter to Good Health
Hospital, where she was
declared dead.” Elegbede said
he immediately ran to the Isolo
Police Division to report the
matter and it was there that he
met the culprits. He said
Chinyere drove recklessly into
the compound because she
was on a mission to fight one
of his neighbours. He said, “I
was told that Chinyere and her
brother hired the Police Mobile
Force member, who is attached
to a bank in the area, to escort
them to our compound to fight
one of my neighbour’s children.
“They drove recklessly from Ire
Akari Road into my compound
and after crushing my little girl,
the armed MOPOL aided them
in escaping from the scene.”
The grandfather said four days
after the incident, Chinyere’s
parents, in company with the
Divisional Police Officer, Isolo,
Adamu Ibrahim, and a chief in
the area came to apologise
over the incident, urging him
not to pursue the case.
Elegbede, however, berated the
police for not handling the case
professionally. He said, “When
they came to visit me four days
later, I was shocked that the
DPO escorted them to my
place. Why should the DPO be
pleading on their behalf, telling
me it was the will of God?
Anyway, I told them to go and
beg Ikeoluwa’s parents
because I am not her father.
“On September 9, the DPO
called me again saying the
Area D Commander at Mushin
wanted to see all the parties
involved but on getting there,
the DPO told us to return to his
own station. “When I noticed
that the case was not being
handled properly, I asked the
DPO to transfer the matter to
the State Criminal Investigation
Department, Yaba, but he
refused to do this. “I am aware
that Chinyere is 18 years old
and is an adult. I have already
started hearing that the police
want to manipulate her age, get
her a fake affidavit and give her
a soft-landing. I will not accept
this.” The victim’s grandfather
said life had not been the same
since the incident occurred.
While pointing to the spot
where his granddaughter’s
blood was shed, he said, “I
cannot believe this. We are still
in shock. Her mother has had
to take leave from work and
travel out of the country to take
her mind off things. Imagine us
losing such a pleasant and
brilliant girl?” When contacted
on the telephone, the Police
Public Relations Officer, Lagos
State Police Command, Ngozi
Braide, confirmed the accident
to our correspondent. Braide
said the matter was reported as
a fatal car accident and that
Chinyere had been charged to
court.

kept mum on whether there
were casualties. He assured
the community that troops
had been sent to the
affected areas.
Meanwhile, the 10pm-7am
curfew in Potiskum has
been reviewed by the state
government to between
9pm and 7am, following a
shooting on a congregation
at a mosque on Wednesday
where a man was killed and
the Imam wounded.

Armed Robbers On Power Bikes Attack Bullion Van In Lagos

Commercial activities at
Ijora Badia, in the Apapa
area of Lagos State, came
to a halt on Wednesday
when a group of
policemen and armed
robbers engaged in a gun
duel.
It was said that the
robbers started shooting
sporadically into the air to
scare motorists,
attempting to escape in a
rush with the bullion van.
Their progress was said
to have been slowed
down by heavy traffic.
According to Punch, the
robbers, who had arrived
Marine Bridge on several
power bikes, dislodged a
bullion van conveying a
huge amount of money
from its escort vehicle by
opening fire at them.
The Divisional Police
Officer, Apapa, Usman
Ndanbabo, and policemen
from the Area B
Command arrived at the
scene after being alerted
by the sound of gunfire.
The robbers reportedly
disembarked from the
bullion van and engaged
the police in a shootout.
Other police divisions
within the area command
were said to have also
blocked all the escape
routes and dispatched
anti-robbery teams to
assist the Apapa Division.
In the gun duel which
lasted for several minutes,
a member of the Nigerian
Navy and two other
civilians were said to
have sustained injuries.
However, one of the
robbers was reportedly
shot dead while another
was arrested. The Navy
personnel and the others,
who were injured were
rushed to a nearby
hospital for treatment.
Police say “investigations
are ongoing to arrest the
fleeing suspects but
normalcy has returned to
the area.”

How Mr Enedo from Anambra Killed His Mum for Money Rituals

Men of the Nigerian Police Force
have arrested a man identified
as Mr Tonna Enedo for killing
his own mother for the purpose
of money-making rituals.
Confessing to the crime, Mr
Enedo said:
“I was asked by the chief
priest of the society that if I
wanted to be rich, I should
go and have fun with a mad
woman. I should also go
and sleep with a body for
seven hours ; I should fast
for seven days dry.
"I was told that I would first
kill my father and the last
stage is that I will go mad
and after I might have
completed all the condition,
I will become the richest
man in Africa, if not in the
whole world.”
Mr Enedo blamed his action on
his quest to make money at all
cost. He said he has already
slept in a mortuary for seven
hours as one of the conditions
for the money-making rituals.
He was arrested by policemen
deployed from the Obosi Police
Division in Anambra state. Enedo
hails from Obosi in Idemili North
Local Government Area of the
state.
He said he has met all other
conditions and was planning to
kill his father when he
mistakenly killed his mother. He
said it was after he hit a metal
on her head that he realised he
had killed the woman he loved
most.
Now his money rituals venture
has been canceled as he will be
prosecuted for his crime. Really
sad!

30 Gunmen Storm Palace At Mid- Night, Kidnap Monarch

The setting was like that
of a war film on Tuesday
as the Paramount Ruler of
Esit Eket Local
Government Area of Akwa
Ibom State, Ubong Assam,
was abducted by no fewer
than 30 gunmen, who
stormed his palace
around 2am and operated
without challenge.
The kidnap, it was learnt,
might be in connection
with a N2.6 billion
compensation paid by
ExxonMobil to the four
host local government
communities. The money
has been generating
tension in the area.
The kidnappers took the
royal father to Unyeghe
village, Mbo Local
Government Area in a car,
transferred him to a
waiting speedboat and left
for the high seas.
Although the security
personnel attached to the
royal father attempted to
rescue him, the
kidnappers’ superior fire
power won the day.
According to a source, the
kidnappers are demanding
for N150million ransom
before the Monarch would
be release, as their share
of the compensation
money, which they
claimed they joined in
agitating for.
A family source said:
“Some of the gun shots
sounded like bomb blasts.
The operation was like an
invasion.”
The Nigeria Police in

are on top of the situation
but the whereabouts of
the Monarch remains
unknown as at the time of
reporting.

Robber Takes Car To Pastor For Blessing, Police Nab Him In Church

Robber takes car to pastor for
blessing, police nab him in
church
By TheHerald Admin on
October 21, 2013
A man, Yinka Oyeniran, who
was nabbed after he kept a
Toyota Camry snatched by his
gang members in a church has
been remanded in prison
custody after his case was
charged to court last Friday.
Forty-five-year old Oyeniran
was arraigned in Magistrates’
Court 2, Iyaganku, on a two-
count charge of conspiracy and
robbery. He was accused of
conspiring with others at large
to dispossess a woman of her
Toyota Camry car with
registration number LSR 292 AT
in Ibadan, along with other
valuables.
Oyo State Police Public
Relations Officer, Olabisi
Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, had told
journalists recently that
Oyeniran was arrested in his
church in Gbongan, Osun State
through the collaborative
efforts of policemen from Oyo
and Osun States who laid
ambush for him after they
traced a car that was snatched
in Ibadan, Oyo State, to the
church premises.
Though Oyeniran attended
church regularly and deceived
members of his church at
Akinlalu junction in Gbongan,
that he was a fervent and
devout Christian, God proved to
him that He cannot be mocked
as his criminal acts became
exposed through the car he
kept in the church premises.
Oyeniran, an indigene of
Gbongan but who farms in
Modakeke town, also in Osun
State, had told his pastor and
members of the congregation to
rejoice with him over the
purchase of a Tokunbo Toyota
Camry car. Unknown to the
pastor, however, Oyeniran and
his four-member gang had
snatched the car from a woman
in Ibadan.
Crime Reports gathered that the
four-man gang which operated
with the use of motorcycles,
trailed their victim from a
fellowship centre to her
residence at Kute Wofun area of
the city with an unregistered
red Honda motorcycle on
August 10 at 9p.m., and
robbed her of the car valued at
N1.3million.
Not only that, the armed
robbers reportedly collected the
woman’s handsets, handbag,
Blackberry valued N67,000,
jewellery valued at N100,000
and a sum of N120,000 cash.
Unfortunately for the armed
robbers, the car was tracked to
Oyeniran’s church where he hid
it. Crime Reports learnt that
Oyeniran was forced to push
the car into the church
premises when it stopped
working after it was
demobilised.
In an interview with Crime
Reports when the accused was
paraded by the Oyo State
Police Command, he mentioned
his gang members as Taiye
Victor, Tunde, an okada rider
and another man whose name
he claimed he did not know.
The accused also revealed that
he had gone for robbery on two
or three occasions but denied
ever using a gun, saying that
the guns they were using
belonged to other members.
Describing how the operation
was carried out, Oyeniran had
said that it was Taiye who held
the gun while he held a pipe
they used in threatening their
victim. He also said he was the
one who collected their victim’s
money, handsets as well as car
key while Taiye demanded for
the original documents of the
car and removed its number
plates. He however said he tore
the documents into shreds and
threw them into the bush on
the way to Gbongan so as to
avoid the scrutiny of policemen
on the highway.
Before Oyeniran confessed his
deeds, he had initially denied
snatching the car, telling the
police that he bought the
vehicle for N1million from Taiye
who purchased it from Cotonou
in Republic of Benin. The
accused said he paid N200,000
upfront and gave an additional
N300,000 when the car was
brought, claiming that he was
still owing Taiye a balance of
N500,000.
Other items recovered from the
suspect, according to the
PPRO, included  one
unregistered red Honda
motorcycle, one red Nissan
Sunny car with registration
number AP 406 SGB, a bunch of
keys and a rectum cable wire
The sitting magistrate in Court
2, Mrs Oyediran, ordered that
the accused be remanded in
prison custody and adjourned
the case till November 19,
2013.

ASUU Replies Jonathan: Your Begging Won't End This Strike

The Academic Staff Union
of Universities, ASUU, has
turned down President
Goodluck Jonathan’s plea
for the lecturers to end
their strike of over 110
days old.
ASUU does not need
any plea from Mr
President, we are not
asking for impossible
things. The
Government reached
an agreement with
us and we are
asking them to
honour it. It is so
simple.
“Our country has the
resources to honour
the agreement but
education is not
given priority. The
Minister of Aviation
(Mrs Stella Oduah)
just got two
bulletproof cars
bought for N255m by
an agency under her
supervision . So, who
do you want to tell
that this country
does not have the
resources?
“Government should be
honourable. Is it
honourable not to honour
an agreement? Certainly
no. The Federal
Government should not
allow the public
universities to continue to
degenerate. Posterity will
not forgive us if we allow
public universities to
totally collapse.
“We won’t allow public
universities to be
destroyed. That is why
they are establishing
private universities all
over the country with the
nation’s money. Except
those owned by the
missionaries, tell me
which of the private
universities was not
established with the
nation’s resources?”
These were the words of
ASUU Chairman, Obafemi
Awolowo University, Ile
Ife, Prof. Adegbola
Akinola.
The ASUU chief warned
that children from poor
homes might no longer
have access to university
education if the union
should succumb to the
blackmail being employed
against it by the
government.

Exposed: Stella Oduah Forced NAMA To Buy 4 VIP Limousines and 4 Exotic Cars

This woman, Mrs. Stella
Oduah, is really proving
that there is no
accountability in Nigeria:
When contacted on the
discovery, confronted with
the facts, Mr. Supo
Atobatele, NAMA
spokesman, denied the
existence of the stretch
limos, claiming that
NAMA is a “professional
agency” that provides
navigational aid to
aircrafts flying within
Nigeria’s airspace.
But as soon as he was
told that pictures of the
Limousines have been
taken from the secret
location where they are
kept, the man hung up
and switched off his
phone immediately...
A fresh investigation
by Sahara
Reporters reveals that the
National Airspace
Management Agency,
NAMA, another agency
under the
Aviation Ministry, also
purchased four exotic
Toyota Tundra cars for
the Minister, Mrs. Stella
Oduah. The exotic Toyota
Tundras are in addition to
four stretch limousine
cars (pictured above) that
were allegedly purchased
for the movement of VIPs
on the orders of Mrs
Stella Oduah.
Sahara Reporters obtained
the photos of the
Limousines, which were
parked at the
headquarters of the Total
Radar Coverage of Nigeria
(TRACON) grounds in
Abuja.
NAMA’s CEO, Nnamdi
Udo, reportedly made the
purchase and ‘donation’
of the Tundras to the
Minister in June 2013.
The four Limousines were
received in the third week
of June but have never
been put to use.
Unfortunately, at the end
of Goodluck Jonathan's
administration,

REVEALED! Stella Oduah Got N112m Bribe for the N255m Cars

As the minister of aviation
began a new spin today
that the two BMW
armored cars purchased
by the Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority (NCAA)
for her use were done on
"hire-purchase", Sahara
Reporters has again
unearthed new details
about the $1.6 million
spent by the Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority to
purchase the armored
BMW cars for Mrs Stella
Oduah.
A highly reliable source
has told SaharaReporters
that the shady deal for the
car was done entirely
between Coscharis Motors
Limited, one of Ms.
Oduah’s private firms
based in Abuja and First
Bank of Nigeria.
" The NCAA was not
even aware of the
deal until the
minister told them to
sign that they had
received two BMW
cars ," said our
source.
After inking the deal,
Coscharis Motors, sellers
of the highly inflated
automobiles, reportedly
gave the Aviation Minister
more than N112 million as
kickbacks. Our source
added that Cosmas
Maduka, who owns
Coscharis Motors, pocked
N60 million for each of
the two BMW cars.
An official at the NCAA
corroborated the
information that the
agency was largely kept
in the dark about the
transaction. “We were
never privy to the
transaction and had not
seen the cars even though
our head of transport was
made to sign the delivery
note,” said the source.
The source added that the
agency has still not seen
the cars even after the
scandal escalated.
Last week, an official of
the NCAA, Fola Akinkuotu,
spoke to the media and
defended the purchase of
the cars. Mr. Akinkuotu
said the cars were for the
ministry’s protocol pool
for use in transporting
foreign aviation dignitaries
when they visit Nigeria.
His explanation conflicted
with the original statement
by the minister’s
spokesman, Mr. Obi, who
had claimed that the cars
were for Stella Oduah's
safety.
A source at the NCAA
disclosed that Mr.
Akinkuotu felt tricked into
facing the media on the
scandal. “He had been
told he would only appear
beside the embattled
minister, who was
supposed to speak.
Instead, he was asked to
speak,” said the source.
Meanwhile, a source at
the Presidency said
President Goodluck
Jonathan is not bothered
at all about the fraud
perpetrated by Stella
Oduah, his Aviation
Minister. Ms. Oduah had
played significant roles in
raising money and
disbursing same to help
Jonathan win the 2011
presidential elections.
Several Nigerians and
diplomats have registered
their displeasure at
Jonathan’s continued
retention of Oduah on his
cabinet but he has
refused to take any action
and the woman is still in
office.

the institution would be among
the top 10 universities in the

Oyedepo made the remark at
the institution’s 11th Founder’s
Day celebration in Ota.
According to him, the university
has since inception in 2002,
focused on actualising its
mandate, which is primarily to
raise leaders who will change
the world.
Covenant University, Ota
Covenant University, Ota
Oyedepo said that already, the
university had surpassed set
standards but was not
relenting till it achieved its
desired 2022 dream, tagged:
Vision 10: 2022, (1 of 10 in 10).
“It is in view of this that we are
launching our new vision and,
therefore want to charge the
faculty managements to invest
maximally in the review of our
curriculum.
“We must strive to review
pragmatically, the contents of
our curriculum by bringing it
into the realities of the day.
“Let us not be afraid of trying
out new things in new ways
because unless this is done,
you cannot move forward.

creative mind of Christ to

to truly meet the needs of the
society,” he said.
The Chancellor said that
empowering the people
intellectually and practicalising
it through inventions and
discoveries was key in taking
universities to higher levels.
He charged the students to be
excellent performers, especially
in the area of self-discipline, as
it was a major tool in becoming

blowing laboratory at the
chemistry department of the

Sir, I Want To Come & See You ––Stella Oduah Begs Jonathan

The embattled Minister of
Aviation, Ms. Stella
Oduah, has commenced a
high-powered lobbying to
get into a room with
President Goodluck
Jonathan with a view to
beg him to forgive her
and save her job.
She tried using former
President Olusegun
Obasanjo to beg Jonathan
to forgive her but
Obasanjo turned her
down, saying he can't get
himself involved in an
obvious act of corruption.
Stella Oduah, sensing that
she has bitten more than
she can shew, then
rushed to Aso Rock to
personally beg
Jonathan...
She was sighted at the
Presidential Villa in Abuja
late on Friday but
Jonathan ignored her. A
presidency top source
confirmed Stella Oduah’s
visit to the Villa.
According to the source,
Oduah “wanted to explain
herself to the President
who, like every Nigerian,
was embarrassed by the
media reports and the
evidence of the purchase
of the two cars at an
outrageous sum of
N225m.”
The source said, “She was
here (Villa) on Friday but
like you know, Mr.
President was busy
throughout the weekend.”
Meanwhile, indications
have emerged that
Jonathan is set to probe
Stella Oduah over the
N255m car and all other
transactions he has
trusted her with in the
past. This is because
Jonathan used to believe
that she is one of the best
ministers he had until this
monumental fraud was
uncovered.
Meanwhile, Ms. Oduah is
expected to appear before
the Senate as the Senate
resumes plenary on
Tuesday.
