Mountain of Fire Ministries Begin Crusade To Close All Beer Parlours In Lagos!!

A crusade to shut down beer
parlours, reduce crime and
depopulate the kingdom of
darkness in Ogba area of
Lagos, western Nigeria, is
underway, Mountain of Fire and
Miracles Ministries, MFM, said
at a press conference on
Sunday.
“We want to close down beer
parlours in Ogba environment.
We want to convert beer
parlours into our praying
centres,” said Pastor Aderemi
Oseni, the Regional Overseer of
MFM Region 32 Ogba, Lagos,
who addressed journalists in
his church.
“At the end of this crusade, the
kingdom of Satan would have
been completely depopulated,”
he said, adding that the
crusade will take place
between 19 and 21 December
at MFM Regional Headquarters
at 9, Ajayi Road, Ogba.
Sensitization campaigns have
already begun and a march
around Ogba area took place
on Sunday.
Oseni said crime had
skyrocketed in Nigeria and
MFM was ready to assist the
government in reducing it in
Ogba area.
“We are worried about the
extent of crime going on in
Nigeria presently and we desire
as a church of God to see as
much as we can in assisting
the government of this country
in reducing crime in our own
environment,” Oseni said,
adding that crime can be
reduced through evangelism.
Oseni said it was an open
secret that major streets in
Ogba have been converted into
shrines.
“I am aware of the fact that
powers of darkness have
converted all our major roads
to shrines in this environment.
We want to pull down all these
(shrines),” he said, adding that
they are militating against the
progress of mankind.
The theme of the crusade,
overcoming the storm, was
inspired from Mark 4:19 and
aims at helping Nigerians
overcome their personal storms
or challenges, Oseni said.
“This environment is loaded
with a lot of potentials but
majority of the potentials are
going through a lot of storm,”
he said, adding that after the
crusade the “whole of Ogba will
be delivered from every storm.”
The last crusade took place in
June this year and the first one
was held in December last
year.
Oseni said what makes this
crusade unique is the array of
pastors who have gathered for
the purpose and the areas of
focus it will address.
Women are not, however,
allowed to wear trousers for the
crusade, Oseni said, explaining
that it was against the
scriptures for women to dress
like men.
Oseni said safety and security
measures have been put in
place and anti-bomb detector
devices have been provided for
the crusade.
Enough policemen and internal
security personnel have also
been called upon for the event,
he said.

year-old Madam Adiza Ogbo,
wife the traditional ruler of
Abba- Igogoro community,
Igboeze North Local
Government Area of Enugu
State, who was abducted by
unknown gunmen since
September 14, this year, has
been recovered from a shallow
grave by operatives of the state
police command.
Late Adiza, the mother of the
former Commissioner for
Chieftaincy Affairs in
EnuguState, Chief Goddy Ogbo,
was kidnapped, four days after
some armed men invaded the
palace and inflicted machete
cuts on her husband, Omale
before shooting at three other
persons in his palace at 8pm.
The traditional ruler was said to
be having a meeting with some
people in his Igogoro palace
when the gunmen struck. Igwe
Ogbo was said to have been
reportedly given three machete
cuts on his head.
84 year-old Madam Adiza Ogbo
killed
The aged woman was said to
have died in the hands of her
abductors a week after she was
taken from her home at
gunpoint to an unknown
destination.  Leader of the
kidnap gang now in police net,
one Paschal Onah alias Achisa
who was arrested along with a
native doctor and seven
members of his gang,
confessed that the woman died
in their hands and was buried
in a grave which he dug in his
compound for kidnap victims.
The police said that the
woman’s decomposed body
was recovered from the said
grave following a confessional
statement by the suspects who
were rounded up by men of the
state police command.
The State Police spokesman,
Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who
confirmed the arrest of the
suspects and the recovery of
Mrs. Ogbo’s corpse yesterday,
likened the incident to the
popular saying that “every day
is for a thief but one day is for
the owner of the house.”
He said that the “dare devil
kidnappers with their native
doctor that prepares charm for
them in order not to be caught
and for them to be succeeding
in their evil perpetrations and
possibly be escaping when
security operatives strikes are
now in custody.”
According to him, the
operatives of the Anti
Kidnapping Unit arrested the
nine  notorious kidnappers and
the native doctor in the course
of investigation into the kidnap
of the royal father’s wife.
“Following the kidnap of the
woman who is believed to be
about 84 years, Commissioner
of Police Enugu state
command, Adamu Abubakar
Mohammed directed a full scale
investigations which has
hitherto led to the arrest of nine
suspects namely Paschal Onah
alias Achisa, Uche Ugwu,
Chinwendu Adonu, Chikodi
Idoko, Martin Okpe a native
doctor, Mamman Okechukwu,
Ofobuike Okpe, Christain Onah
and Friday Eze.
“They were arrested after a
severe gun duel with the
operatives recently when they
were tracked to their hideouts
with some of them sustaining
injuries,” he said. Amaraizu
said that the leader of the
gang, Paschal Onah, had
revealed how he and his gang
members carried out the kidnap
of the late Madam Ogbo and
how she was eventually buried
by him and the gang members
in his compound where they
have kept her awaiting for the
payment of N10million ransom.
He said that Onah claimed that
a week later the madam died
and they decided to bury her in
a shallow grave inside his
compound which he had turned
to a dumping ground for kidnap
victims.
Onah further revealed that he
also collected N300,000 from
the family of the victim after she
had died but unknown to her
relations that the woman had
died and was going to regain
her freedom after the payment.
He further disclosed that his
gang used to work hand in
hand with the native doctor,
who normally prepare charm for
the gang and that they
compensate him with a ram
and N30,000 or N50,000
respectively depending on the
ransom obtained from the
victim’s relations.
Onah, however, regretted his
action and advised people “to
stay out of crime and
criminality as one’s sin is
bound to find him out one
day.”
One of the suspects identified
as Uche Ugwu also regretted
his action and disclosed that he
has not made much since he
joined the illicit business which
he described as “a dirty game.”
He however narrated how he
abandoned his cloth selling
business at Abuja and heed to
Paschals call to joi his kidnap
gang, advising the youth to try
as much as possible to shun
crime and criminality.
The suspect, who admitted
having carried out two kidnap
operations with Paschal using
their cut to size double- barrel
gun, one revolver pistol and a
locally made pistol, revealed
that they normally keep their
victims at Paschal’s house.
“Normally when we want to go
on operation, we use to snatch
vehicles and move with it to
where we want to operate,”
Ugwu said while advising those
indulging in criminal activities
to desist as “they will be
caught one day.”
Chinwendu Adonu, also a
suspect, disclosed that it was
greed that lured him into
becoming a kidnapper,
explaining that he was cloth
seller in Benue state before he
joined the gang.

I Pay My Tithe After Every Operation: 24-year Old Robbery Suspect Reveals Secrets Of His Success

A 24-year old armed
robbery suspect, Mr.
Tajudeen Onifara has
revealed the secret
behind his success in the
underworld for nine years
during which he
robbed many people of
their money and other
possessions. He
confessed to the police
that he was dutifully paying his
tithe to his
church, Christ Living
Ministry, Lagos Island, as
commanded in the Bible
after every successful
robbery operation in Lagos,
western Nigeria.
Onifara was arrested in a
hotel with his girlfriend
by men of the anti-
robbery squad of the
state police command after
nine years of
robbing people.
The father of two said he
paid his tithe regularly
because he believed that
as a Christian God always
bless a faithful tither. He
disclosed that after
every successful
operation, he would
remove 10 percent of the
money he stole from
people and pay as tithe to
church.
Onifara attributed his
success in crime for nine
years to the fact that he
paid his tithe regularly as
commanded by God in Malachi
chapter 3 verse
10 and 11. The verses, he
said, mandated Christians
to give 10 percent of
their earnings as tithe to
the church. He said he started
stealing at the age of 15
and specialised in robbing
customers of banks with
locally made cut-to-size
pistol before he graduated to a
big time
armed robber.
He said his major
breakthrough in the
underworld occurred
when he robbed a woman who
withdrew
N2m from a bank in
Lagos.
He said she was about
entering her car when he
accosted her and pointed a toy
gun at her. The
woman quickly
surrendered the money
to him.
“I pretended as if I
wanted to assist her. She did
not know that I was
an armed robber and
when we got to where
she parked her car, I
pointed a gun at her and
she quietly handed the money
to me. After
snatching the money I
escaped on a bike with
my friend,” he stated.
He disclosed that he used
part of the money to buy a
sophisticated weapon
after removing his tithe.
On what he did with all
the money he stole over
the years, he explained
that he used the money to
enrol his children in
one of the best schools in
Lagos and opened a
supermarket at
Idumagbo on Lagos
Island. He added that he used
a
substantial part of the
money to take care of
himself and his
girlfriends.
On how he was arrested, he
said he was having
fun with his girlfriend in
Ibadan at a popular hotel
when SARS men arrested
him.
When asked how he felt now
that he was
arrested, he replied: “I
know that robbery is a
serious and risky
‘business’ that can cut
short one’s life. If I am given
another chance, I
will abandon it and
engage in a legitimate
business.”
Police sources said
Onifara who is now in custody
at SARS will soon
be charged to court.

How This Nollywood Actress Was Sent To Prison Over Stealing

This is a case that should

serve as a big lesson to

others. Nollywood actress,

Yetunde Akilapa was

arrested in February for

allegedly being in

possession of 100 master

key, which she was

accused of stealing.

She was held in custody

but was later released

after a court discharged

and acquitted her. In a

recent chat with a report,

Yetude who is now trying

to get her groove back

reveals what really

happened:

There is a rumour that

you were set up by your

friends, how true is this?

Yes, it’s true. Some of my

friends set me up.

Why did they do that to

you?

Let me narrate everything

to you from the beginning.

I am into business, I sell

weave-ons. I learnt

hairdressing before joining

acting, it was just that I

had no time for the

business because of my

acting career. I used to

have a salon at Bariga

area of Lagos State, but I

left the place for a friend,

Titi, who is a cousin to

my boyfriend, Wale. The

only thing I didn’t give her

was the weave-ons in the

shop. I told her to sell

them, and that she should

give the money to my

younger sister, who lives

near the shop. However,

she refused to deliver the

money she made from the

sales to my sister. I later

went there to pick up all

my things in the shop and

requested for my money.

To my surprise, she

claimed that there was no

money with her because a

lot of people owed her. An

argument ensued between

her and my sister, which

resulted into a fight during

which she stabbed my

sister. I reported the

matter to the police, who

arrested and detained her.

Her cousin, who was my

boyfriend, and others were

against me over the action

and pleaded with me to

withdraw the case from

the police, which I later

did.

So, how did the set up

happen?

There was a woman I met

at Next Salon at Akoka,

Lagos, who liked what I

sell. I told her I could do

home delivery. We

exchanged numbers and

she gave me her address.

She stays at Fola Agoro,

which is near my place at

Bariga all in Lagos. One

day, I decided to visit her

at home. On getting to the

place she gave as her

residence, the place was

quiet as I didn’t see

anyone outside. I knocked

on the door and someone

came out to attend to me.

But when I asked to see

the woman, who told me

she is called Mama Ayo,

the lady that attended to

me claimed there was

nobody like that in the

place. The woman

thereafter called other

tenants and accused me

of being an informant

because she said they

had robbed the house in

December 2012, and this

incident happened in

March. They ransacked

me and found a bunch of

keys on me, which has

about 15-20 keys. They

claimed they were master

keys I used for robbery.

They later took me to the

police station and I was

detained. My boyfriend

and his cousin later got to

know about my ordeal

They later testified at the

police station that I was

an actress and a bail was

to be arranged for me to

get out of the station but

it didn’t end there. The

police later came to tell

me that my house would

be searched in the

afternoon. The police that

searched my house

reported back to the DPO

and presented the receipts

to him.

At the DPO’s office, a guy

interrogated me and

introduced himself as a

PM. I thought he was a

Production Manager, but

unknown to me, he was a

journalist from PM News.

It was later I got to know

about this. He was the

one that reported in the

media that I was sent to

Kirikiri Prison for robbery.

After leaving the DPO’s

office, I was told that I

would be charged to

court. Three days after, I

was charged to court.

But how did you come

about the 100 bunch of

keys?

This was the handiwork of

the journalist that broke

the story. Let me tell you

something, Titi dated the

DPO because of my

matter. I later got to know

the whole truth of the

matter later . I would have

rot in jail but God helped

me out. She was jealous

of how I get money to do

some things.

Do you still relate with

Titi?

Never, such a person

should not be mingled

with at all because she is

a dangerous elemen

Pastor Caught With Married Woman After Her Husband's Death

A pastor and a married

woman said to be his

lover have been arrested

by police in Edo in

connection with the

murder of the woman’s

husband, Victor

Nsongbunyo, who is a

Deputy Manager with the

NNPC.

He was said to have been

killed in Benin, capital of

Edo State, by his wife and

her lover, the Pastor, due

to the fact that he had

begun to suspect her of

infidelity.

Late Mr Victor Nsongbuyo

was said to have begun

questioning the paternity

of the children his wife

has for him and the one

she was expecting. Below

are the shocking

revelations...

Mr Victor visited their

home town to complain to

his family and his in-

laws. Consequently, the

families resolved that a

DNA test would be

conducted after the wife

gave birth to the

child . This arrangement,

according to sources,

incensed the wife,

prompting her into plotting

to murder her husband

with her lover, who is a

Pastor.

According to police

sources, Victor returned

from work on Friday

October 22, 2013, his

suspected killers came

and killed him, and put

the mutilated body into

one of his old cars. The

car was driven to Sapele

road, Benin, where it was

set ablaze with his body.

The following Monday,

October 25, the woman

was said to have gone to

her late husband’s office

to report that he was

missing. She was also

said to have reported the

incident of the husband’s

death to the police.

Thereafter, she went to

her husband’s bank where

she allegedly withdrew

N4million from his

account .

It was gathered that

following information to a

staff of the NNPC that a

burnt car was sighted

somewhere along Sapele

Road, they rushed to the

scene and found it was

the late

The NNPC staff rushed to

his wife at their home to

inform her of the finding,

but surprisingly, found her

The police were said to

have launched a search

for the car given

to Victor by NNPC

following his promotion,

and the car was

reportedly traced to a

compound at Ekenwan

The police detectives were

said to have accosted a

lady in the compound

where the car was packed

and she in fear opened

up. She told the police

that the car was packed

by a Pastor who lives in

the compound.

Further investigation by

the police led them to

observe burns in the

Pastor’s left hand and

face. The pastor had

reportedly told the police

that one of his daughters

in the church sowed a

He was said to have led

the police to the residence

Pastor Caught With Married Woman After Her Husband's Death

A pastor and a married

woman said to be his

lover have been arrested

by police in Edo in

connection with the

murder of the woman’s

husband, Victor

Nsongbunyo, who is a

Deputy Manager with the

NNPC.

He was said to have been

killed in Benin, capital of

Edo State, by his wife and

her lover, the Pastor, due

to the fact that he had

begun to suspect her of

infidelity.

Late Mr Victor Nsongbuyo

was said to have begun

questioning the paternity

of the children his wife

has for him and the one

she was expecting. Below

are the shocking

revelations...

Mr Victor visited their

home town to complain to

his family and his in-

laws. Consequently, the

families resolved that a

DNA test would be

conducted after the wife

gave birth to the

child . This arrangement,

according to sources,

incensed the wife,

prompting her into plotting

to murder her husband

with her lover, who is a

Pastor.

According to police

sources, Victor returned

from work on Friday

October 22, 2013, his

suspected killers came

and killed him, and put

the mutilated body into

one of his old cars. The

car was driven to Sapele

road, Benin, where it was

set ablaze with his body.

The following Monday,

October 25, the woman

was said to have gone to

her late husband’s office

to report that he was

missing. She was also

said to have reported the

incident of the husband’s

death to the police.

Thereafter, she went to

her husband’s bank where

she allegedly withdrew

N4million from his

account .

It was gathered that

following information to a

staff of the NNPC that a

burnt car was sighted

somewhere along Sapele

Road, they rushed to the

scene and found it was

the late

Mr. Victor Nsongbunyo’s

car.

PHOTO: Angel Appear During Worship In Redeemed Church

Strange things are really

happening these days. It

is left for you to believe

them or doubt...

According to the

story, a Lagos-based

Christian band, The

their thing at a

Redeemed Church

some people were

taking pictures with

A young boy used

FRESH BORNO VIOLENCE: Boko Haram Ambush Motorist

Hardly a day passed since

unknown

gunmen, allegedly belonging to

the

dreaded Boko Haram sect,

ambushed

motorists in Borno State

villages of

Gwoza-Firgi-Ngurosoya federal

highway,

when, on Monday, another

group of

insurgents assaulted motorists

along the

troubled Maiduguri-Damboa-

Biu road.

The first incident resulted in

death of five

passengers, one of whom was

en route to

Maiduguri to attend his

brother's wedding.

In the course of the second

attack, two

trucks loaded with oranges and

a Toyota car

were set ablaze, and the drivers

were

abducted, their destination still

unknown.

The last incident, it was

gathered, took place

not far away from Iimanti/

Bullabulin

Ngarwa communities, notorious

for

previous deadly road attacks

masterminded

by Boko Haram.

A motorist/driver who managed

to escape

the attack and identified himself

as Mallam

Musa Usman, narrated that the

incident

occurred at about 9am on

Monday. A group

of terrorists, while crossing over

the

highway from their camps in

Sambisa Game

Forests, came across a number

motorists on

the road, barricaded them, and

set the

vehicles ablaze.

Pastor Nabbed For Swindling Woman Of N9,000 For Deliverance

47-year-old Peter Chukwuma,

who posed as a pastor was

arraigned in a Grade 1 Area

Court at Aso

Pada in Mararaba, Nasarawa

State by the

police on Friday for swindling a

woman of

N9,000.

According to the prosecutor, PC

Friday Adaji,

the accused and one other now

at large

tricked one Ms hristiano Ameh

of Kabayi

village, Mararaba into believing

they were

men of God.

Ms Christiana who lodged the

report at the

'A' Division Police Station,

Mararaba on Nov.

29. said she was returning from

work when

the accused came to her and

told her he had

a message from God that the

money she

had on her was blood money.

The accused collected N9,000

and one Itel

mobile phone valued at N7,000

from Ameh

to perform deliverance prayer

that will solve

all her problems.

Adaji added that the accused

disappeared

with the money and mobile

phone to an

unknown destination until he

was arrested.

The accused was charged with

criminal

conspiracy and cheating.

Mr Adaji said that the offence

contravened

the provisions of Sections 97

and 322 of the

Penal Code.

If convicted, the accused could

spend up to

three years in prison or an

option to pay a

fine or both.

The accused, however, pleaded

not guilty

saying, "I am only a labourer,

not a pastor."

The judge, Mr Albert Maga,

admitted the

accused to bail in the sum of

N20,000 and a

surety in like sum and

adjourned the case to

Dec. 19 for hearing.

Criminal Released From Prison Gets Nabbed 48 Hours After For Another

A 22-year-old serial burglar,

David Ekwe, was charged to

Omi

Adio Magistrates' Court on

Monday,

December 2, the second time in

six days,

after he was caught at Ile-Titun

area of

Ibadan with a plasma TV he

allegedly

stole from a house he burgled.

Information gathered had it that

residents

of the area had lodged a

complaint at Eleyele

police station that burglars

usually invaded

their houses between the hours

of 9a.m.

and 4p.m. when they would

have gone out

to their offices or shops.

The Divisional Police Officer,

Deputy

Superintendent of Police

Olawole Ayoola,

reportedly held a meeting with

the head and

members of the community,

after which he

deployed plain-clothes police

detectives in

the area.

The move paid off on Friday,

November 29

when a boy was sighted

loitering. A trap

was reportedly set for him and

not quite

long, he was seen coming from

a street with

a plasma TV in its box. When

apprehended,

Ekwe confessed to have

burgled a house

and when he took policemen to

the house,

it was discovered that not a

single member

of the household was around.

Ekwe further revealed that his

gang had

about four members, with one

of them

already in prison while others

were still

working in other parts of the

city.

Immediately he was brought to

the station,

policemen recognised him as

the suspect

that was charged to court on

November 26

for the same crime. He was

said to have

pleaded guilty at the court,

which made the

magistrate not to waste time

on his case. He

was said to have sentenced the

accused to

one year imprisonment with an

option of

N10,000 fine.

Ironically, the complainant in

the case was

reported to have assisted the

convict in

paying the fine the following

day, which

aided his release from prison

custody on

November 27. He was caught

again 48

hours after.

Ekwe, when taken before the

same

magistrate last Tuesday, was

remanded in

prison custody and his case

adjourned till

December 16.

Manchester United FC Fan Commits Suicide After Newcastle Defeat

Culled From DailyMail..

A man believed to be a fan of

Manchester United Football

Club committed suicide

Saturday night in Nairobi’s

Pipeline estate after the team

lost 1-0 to Newcastle.

Police said John Jimmy

Macharia aged 23 jumped to

his death from the 7th floor of a

building he was after learning

his team had lost in the

Saturday evening match.

According to Nairobi County

police chief Benson Kibue,

Macharia told his friends he

could not stand and watch the

team beaten in a row before he

leapt down dying on the spot.

“All witness accounts suggest

he committed suicide because

the team lost but officers are

still talking to those who were

with him as part of the

investigations into the

incident,” he said.

Kibue advised the youth in the

city to realise the English

Premier League just like any

other sport is a game and they

should not be emotional with it.

“It is not the first time we are

losing a young man because of

the football in England, which is

far away from us. They need to

know that is just a game,” said

Kibue.

The body was later removed

and taken to the mortuary by

police who arrived there.

Macharia is said to have

landed on his head dying

instantly.

Manchester United slumped to

their second home Premier

League defeat in the space of

four days as Yohan Cabaye's

goal gave Newcastle a first

league victory at Old Trafford

since 1972.

INCREDIBLE!! Python Caught On Camera Vomiting A Dog After Swallowing it! [PHOTOS

A massive python was spotted

coughing up a dog it devoured

on the streets of Bangkok.

A cellphone video of the grisly

regurgitation shows the snake

stretch its huge jaw out wide

and back up until the canine is

completely out of its system,

reported Nine News.

“The video tells me that the

python was being stressed —

like someone was poking at it

— because the python will have

a much more difficult time

defending itself if it has a huge

meal in it,” reptile expert and

conservationist Jim Nesci told

the Daily News.

The harrowing clip was posted

to YouTube and LiveLeak,

where it garnered more than

But Nesci suspected that the

incident may have been filmed

by someone familiar with the

snakes.

Nesci said that the python

reticulatus is very common in

southeastern Asia, and he

found it peculiar that someone

happened to have a snake pole

ready to go.

“If you look at the one part

(toward the end of the clip),

that guy has a noose that he

uses,” Nesci said. “It tells me

that they knew right away that

the snake was going to yak up

the dog.”

The only reason other than

stress that a python would

regurgitate its meal would be if

it had digestion trouble, Nesci

explained.

“In nature, predators are very

opportunistic and will eat

whatever they can at the time

because they don’t know when

they can eat next.”

Seven Strongest Military In Africa

When it comes to the military

strength of all

African countries, the keywords

to consider

are “not enough information.”

The Global Fire Power ranking,

or GFP,

measures countries’ military

strength and

assigns a power index number

in order to

compare them to other

countries. Many

factors are taken into

consideration, and

smaller countries can compete

with larger

ones due to points given for

refinement and

technological advancement.

Just seven African countries

are ranked by

the GFP. An inadequate amount

of

information is available to

compare other

countries that are not included.

Based on

available information, the

following

countries represent the most

powerful

militaries on the African

continent in 2013,

according to

GlobalFirepower.com.

Numbers reflect each country’s

power index,

derived from a unique algorithm

developed

by GFP. A perfect score is a

0.0000. The

lower the number, the stronger

the military,

and bonuses and penalties are

added to

country scores as needed.

1. Egypt – Power Index: 0.7569

En.Wikipedia.org

Egypt is put over the top with

regard to

military strength due to the

sheer size of its

armed forces. Nearly 500,000

personnel

serve on its active frontline

force, far

surpassing all of its African

neighbors, as

well as its nearly 10,000

armored fighting

vehicles, 60,000 logistical

vehicles, 900

aircraft, and large oil reserve

from which to

draw. Again, the military has

been

somewhat undermined in the

wake of the

Egyptian Revolution, but some

argue that its

increased role in government

has made it

stronger than ever. Whether or

not this is a

cause for celebration or

concern will remain

hotly debated for some time to

come.

2. Ethiopia – Power Index:

1.1725

TigraIOnline.com

As a landlocked country,

Ethiopia has

focused its resources on

developing its army

and air force to an impressive

degree (the

GFP doesn’t penalize

landlocked countries

for not having a naval force).

Several

hundred thousand personnel

make up its

current force, and they have

significant

numbers of land and air

systems at their

disposal. Furthermore, an

enormous

population that is fit for service

allows

Ethiopia to maintain the

capacity to turn out

an even larger fighting force,

and gives the

country one of the greatest

militaries on the

continent.

3. South Africa – Power Index:

1.2582

BBC.co.uk

As it hasn’t been embroiled in

an

international military conflict for

some time,

South Africa uses its highly

advanced

military for more peacekeeping

and

international cooperation

purposes. Its

aircraft and naval vessels are

notoriously

well-equipped with the latest

technology,

and though the country has

less than

100,000 active frontline

personnel, it has the

capabilities and manpower for

much more.

Add to that a vast array of land

system

technology, and the South

African military is

indeed a force to be reckoned

with.

4. Nigeria – Power Index:

1.3441

YNaija.com

Due to its size, it’s no surprise

that several

hundred thousand troops

comprise the

Nigerian Armed Forces, through

its army,

navy, and air force. Like

Algeria, an abundant

domestic oil supply eases the

financial

burden to be involved in military

conflict,

and it has more than 1,400

armored

vehicles, 360 tanks, and 6,000

logistical

vehicles at its disposal, as well

as nearly 300

aircraft and 25 high-powered

naval vessels.

5. Algeria – Power Index:

1.4107

Al-Monitor.com

As Algeria has a large maritime

border, it

has developed all of its military

capabilities

to an impressively modern

degree, including

its land, sea, and air forces.

Algeria’s active

frontline personnel numbers

more than

127,000 troops and it has

nearly 2,000

armored fighting vehicles at its

disposal.

Algeria also has the added

benefit of its own

oil reserves, allowing it to use

its own fuel to

power tanks, aircraft carriers,

naval vessels,

and more.

6. Kenya – Power Index:

1.6237

Shout-Africa.com

Kenya has established itself as

a vital

participant in international

peacekeeping

missions, and is able to do so

due to a high

merchant marine strength and

an enormous

labor force – resulting in high

available

manpower. Though it doesn’t

possess as

much of its own equipment, its

role as a

member of international teams

allows the

Kenyan military to share

resources with

other countries, strengthening

its own

capabilities at the same time.

7. Libya – Power Index: 1.8428

Alarabiya.net

The strength of Libya’s military

comes mainly

from its large cache of

equipment, despite a

relatively small number of

active troops.

Further hampering Libya’s

abilities is the

continuing violence and unrest

stemming

from the revolution begun in

2011 which

has yet to see a stable

government emerge

from it. Regardless, the country

still has

available 2,500 armored

fighting vehicles,

500 tanks, 600 towed artillery

pieces, 6,500

logistical vehicles, and much

more.

Two Men Charged With Stealing From Paul Walker's Car Crash Wreckage

Two men have been

accused of stealing from

the vehicle that Paul

Walker and Roger Rodas

crashed in. Prosecutors

filed charges against the

two men after they

allegedly stole a part from

the wrecked Porsche

Carrera GT after the car

accident on Nov. 30.

According to Deputy

District Attorney Sera

Boyadjian, both men have

been charged with one

felony count of grand theft

of personal property.

Jameson Brooks Witty and

Anthony Edward Janow

have also been charged

with two misdemeanor

counts each of destroying

evidence and "resisting,

obstructing and delaying a

peace officer."

Janow is due to surrender

on Tuesday, while Witty

already posted bail and is

expected to face a judge

on Jan. 3, 2014.

Prosecutors claim that on

the evening of the fatal

crash, both men stole one

of the roof's panels from a

tow truck carrying the

demolished vehicle when

it was stopped at a red

light in Valencia, Calif.

They also allege that the

crime took place after they

were told by a Los

Angeles County Sheriff's

deputy that they were not

allowed to tamper with the

crime scene in any way

whatsoever.

If both are convicted as

charged, they could face a

maximum of four years,

six months in county jail.

The charges come just

one day after a massive

unofficial memorial rally

and car cruise took place

around the loop where

Walker and Rodas died.

Thousands of Walker fans

and car enthusiasts came

together to place flowers

at the site and remember

the fallen Fast and the

Furious actor.

According to a coroner's

report released Dec. 4,

Walker died of the

combined effects of

traumatic and thermal

injuries resulting from the

crash.

Sack Us Now Or Sign Our Agreements –– ASUU Dares Jonathan

The Academic Staff Union

of Universities, ASUU, on

Monday made good their

decision not to return to

class as directed by the

Federal Government until

all the agreement reached

are properly signed.

“How can you call

off a strike when

there is nothing to

show for it? The

government is not

qualified to call off

the strike. Our union

is awaiting the

government to state

all it has done in

black and white .

However, it is a

serious insult on us

for the government

to be harassing us

with sacking threat.

We are not casual

workers or labourers.

Our research work

has been ongoing.”

The striking university

teachers also refused to

sign any form of

attendance registers in

their institutions as was

directed by the

government.

They said they were only

waiting for the sack letters

the Federal Government

threatened to give them if

they did not return to

work..

The National Treasurer of

ASUU, Dr. Ademola

Aremu, said they would

have wasted their time

and effort if they caved in

and returned to work

under threat.

Also, the UNICAL ASUU

Chairman, Dr. James

Okpiliya, insisted that the

Federal Government must

meet the lecturers’

demands before the strike

could be suspended

Rev Father Pulls Out Gun, Threatens To Shoot Church Members in Imo State

It appears we are truly

approaching the much

talked about end time. As

you read this, a Catholic

priest in Imo State is

being investigated by the

police after reports that he

was illegally in

possession of weapons.

The Reverend Father is

said to be in charge of a

parish in the Dikenafai

environs of the Ideato

South LGA of the state.

He is said to have

threatened members of

his parish and

endangered their lives

with three unlicensed

guns believed to be in his

possession, without

approval.

As a result of the

Reverend Father's action,

many are now afraid of

going to the church.

Crime Guard reliably

gathered that the guns

which include one pump

action riffle, one double-

barrelled gun and a

locally-made pistol

allegedly belonging to the

priest were recovered

from his official residence

by operatives of Special

Armed Robbery Squad,

SARS, Imo State Police

Command acting on a tip

off from some concerned

parishioners.

Described as a very

controversial priest, the

reverend father was

arrested and detained

briefly but granted bail by

the police following the

intervention of some

influential religious and

political leaders in the

state.

Police sources said that

the controversy

surrounding the Catholic

priest stemmed from a

tragedy that occurred in

January 2010, after the

death of a prominent

indigene of the area.

Meanwhile, investigation

into the case is ongoing

by the police to ascertain

the source of the guns

and possibly the actual

purposes they are being

used for.

The Rev Father may be

charged to court after full

police investigation had

been concluded.

Tension In Abuja As House of Reps Finally Moves To APC

For the first time in the

last 14 years, a majority

of the National Assembly

in Nigeria is now

dominated by the leading

opposition party, the APC.

The political development

is highly unsettling. The

stakes are high but the

odds may even be higher,

as the House Speaker, Rt

Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, is

set to unveil the reality.

The House of Reps is now

revelling in jubilation over

the fortunes recorded by

the APC...

With the defection of

Governors Chibuike

Amaechi, Aliyu Wamakko,

Murtala Nyako, Abdulfatah

Ahmed and Rabiu Musa

Kwankwaso to the APC,

the political equation in

Nigeria has changed

drastically.

After a long battle with

President Jonathan and

the PDP leadership, the

governors in concert with

lawmakers controlled by

them and other dissident

PDP chieftains, defected

to the APC.

The decision of the big

shots to move over has

become a subject for

frenzied debate.

The defection of the

governors have resonated

in the National Assembly.

Though the elation is

controlled for now, but it

is set to bob up to a

frenzy this week when the

defectors finally declare

their allegiance for APC

Mountain of Fire Ministries Begin Crusade To Close All Beer Parlours In Lagos!!

A crusade to shut down beer
parlours, reduce crime and
depopulate the kingdom of
darkness in Ogba area of
Lagos, western Nigeria, is
underway, Mountain of Fire and
Miracles Ministries, MFM, said
at a press conference on
Sunday.
“We want to close down beer
parlours in Ogba environment.
We want to convert beer
parlours into our praying
centres,” said Pastor Aderemi
Oseni, the Regional Overseer of
MFM Region 32 Ogba, Lagos,
who addressed journalists in
his church.
“At the end of this crusade, the
kingdom of Satan would have
been completely depopulated,”
he said, adding that the
crusade will take place
between 19 and 21 December
at MFM Regional Headquarters
at 9, Ajayi Road, Ogba.
Sensitization campaigns have
already begun and a march
around Ogba area took place
on Sunday.
Oseni said crime had
skyrocketed in Nigeria and
MFM was ready to assist the
government in reducing it in
Ogba area.
“We are worried about the
extent of crime going on in
Nigeria presently and we desire
as a church of God to see as
much as we can in assisting
the government of this country
in reducing crime in our own
environment,” Oseni said,
adding that crime can be
reduced through evangelism.
Oseni said it was an open
secret that major streets in
Ogba have been converted into
shrines.
“I am aware of the fact that
powers of darkness have
converted all our major roads
to shrines in this environment.
We want to pull down all these
(shrines),” he said, adding that
they are militating against the
progress of mankind.
The theme of the crusade,
overcoming the storm, was
inspired from Mark 4:19 and
aims at helping Nigerians
overcome their personal storms
or challenges, Oseni said.
“This environment is loaded
with a lot of potentials but
majority of the potentials are
going through a lot of storm,”
he said, adding that after the
crusade the “whole of Ogba will
be delivered from every storm.”
The last crusade took place in
June this year and the first one
was held in December last
year.
Oseni said what makes this
crusade unique is the array of
pastors who have gathered for
the purpose and the areas of
focus it will address.
Women are not, however,
allowed to wear trousers for the
crusade, Oseni said, explaining
that it was against the
scriptures for women to dress
like men.
Oseni said safety and security
measures have been put in
place and anti-bomb detector
devices have been provided for
the crusade.
Enough policemen and internal
security personnel have also
been called upon for the event,
he said.

Unbeliveable:Body of kidnapped wife of Enugu royal father found in shallow grave

The decomposed body of 84
year-old Madam Adiza Ogbo,
wife the traditional ruler of
Abba- Igogoro community,
Igboeze North Local
Government Area of Enugu
State, who was abducted by
unknown gunmen since
September 14, this year, has
been recovered from a shallow
grave by operatives of the state
police command.
Late Adiza, the mother of the
former Commissioner for
Chieftaincy Affairs in
EnuguState, Chief Goddy Ogbo,
was kidnapped, four days after
some armed men invaded the
palace and inflicted machete
cuts on her husband, Omale
before shooting at three other
persons in his palace at 8pm.
The traditional ruler was said to
be having a meeting with some
people in his Igogoro palace
when the gunmen struck. Igwe
Ogbo was said to have been
reportedly given three machete
cuts on his head.
84 year-old Madam Adiza Ogbo
killed
The aged woman was said to
have died in the hands of her
abductors a week after she was
taken from her home at
gunpoint to an unknown
destination.  Leader of the
kidnap gang now in police net,
one Paschal Onah alias Achisa
who was arrested along with a
native doctor and seven
members of his gang,
confessed that the woman died
in their hands and was buried
in a grave which he dug in his
compound for kidnap victims.
The police said that the
woman’s decomposed body
was recovered from the said
grave following a confessional
statement by the suspects who
were rounded up by men of the
state police command.
The State Police spokesman,
Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who
confirmed the arrest of the
suspects and the recovery of
Mrs. Ogbo’s corpse yesterday,
likened the incident to the
popular saying that “every day
is for a thief but one day is for
the owner of the house.”
He said that the “dare devil
kidnappers with their native
doctor that prepares charm for
them in order not to be caught
and for them to be succeeding
in their evil perpetrations and
possibly be escaping when
security operatives strikes are
now in custody.”
According to him, the
operatives of the Anti
Kidnapping Unit arrested the
nine  notorious kidnappers and
the native doctor in the course
of investigation into the kidnap
of the royal father’s wife.
“Following the kidnap of the
woman who is believed to be
about 84 years, Commissioner
of Police Enugu state
command, Adamu Abubakar
Mohammed directed a full scale
investigations which has
hitherto led to the arrest of nine
suspects namely Paschal Onah
alias Achisa, Uche Ugwu,
Chinwendu Adonu, Chikodi
Idoko, Martin Okpe a native
doctor, Mamman Okechukwu,
Ofobuike Okpe, Christain Onah
and Friday Eze.
“They were arrested after a
severe gun duel with the
operatives recently when they
were tracked to their hideouts
with some of them sustaining
injuries,” he said. Amaraizu
said that the leader of the
gang, Paschal Onah, had
revealed how he and his gang
members carried out the kidnap
of the late Madam Ogbo and
how she was eventually buried
by him and the gang members
in his compound where they
have kept her awaiting for the
payment of N10million ransom.
He said that Onah claimed that
a week later the madam died
and they decided to bury her in
a shallow grave inside his
compound which he had turned
to a dumping ground for kidnap
victims.
Onah further revealed that he
also collected N300,000 from
the family of the victim after she
had died but unknown to her
relations that the woman had
died and was going to regain
her freedom after the payment.
He further disclosed that his
gang used to work hand in
hand with the native doctor,
who normally prepare charm for
the gang and that they
compensate him with a ram
and N30,000 or N50,000
respectively depending on the
ransom obtained from the
victim’s relations.
Onah, however, regretted his
action and advised people “to
stay out of crime and
criminality as one’s sin is
bound to find him out one
day.”
One of the suspects identified
as Uche Ugwu also regretted
his action and disclosed that he
has not made much since he
joined the illicit business which
he described as “a dirty game.”
He however narrated how he
abandoned his cloth selling
business at Abuja and heed to
Paschals call to joi his kidnap
gang, advising the youth to try
as much as possible to shun
crime and criminality.
The suspect, who admitted
having carried out two kidnap
operations with Paschal using
their cut to size double- barrel
gun, one revolver pistol and a
locally made pistol, revealed
that they normally keep their
victims at Paschal’s house.
“Normally when we want to go
on operation, we use to snatch
vehicles and move with it to
where we want to operate,”
Ugwu said while advising those
indulging in criminal activities
to desist as “they will be
caught one day.”
Chinwendu Adonu, also a
suspect, disclosed that it was
greed that lured him into
becoming a kidnapper,
explaining that he was cloth
seller in Benue state before he
joined the gang.

I Pay My Tithe After Every Operation: 24-year Old Robbery Suspect Reveals Secrets Of His Success

A 24-year old armed
robbery suspect, Mr.
Tajudeen Onifara has
revealed the secret
behind his success in the
underworld for nine years
during which he
robbed many people of
their money and other
possessions. He
confessed to the police
that he was dutifully paying his
tithe to his
church, Christ Living
Ministry, Lagos Island, as
commanded in the Bible
after every successful
robbery operation in Lagos,
western Nigeria.
Onifara was arrested in a
hotel with his girlfriend
by men of the anti-
robbery squad of the
state police command after
nine years of
robbing people.
The father of two said he
paid his tithe regularly
because he believed that
as a Christian God always
bless a faithful tither. He
disclosed that after
every successful
operation, he would
remove 10 percent of the
money he stole from
people and pay as tithe to
church.
Onifara attributed his
success in crime for nine
years to the fact that he
paid his tithe regularly as
commanded by God in Malachi
chapter 3 verse
10 and 11. The verses, he
said, mandated Christians
to give 10 percent of
their earnings as tithe to
the church. He said he started
stealing at the age of 15
and specialised in robbing
customers of banks with
locally made cut-to-size
pistol before he graduated to a
big time
armed robber.
He said his major
breakthrough in the
underworld occurred
when he robbed a woman who
withdrew
N2m from a bank in
Lagos.
He said she was about
entering her car when he
accosted her and pointed a toy
gun at her. The
woman quickly
surrendered the money
to him.
“I pretended as if I
wanted to assist her. She did
not know that I was
an armed robber and
when we got to where
she parked her car, I
pointed a gun at her and
she quietly handed the money
to me. After
snatching the money I
escaped on a bike with
my friend,” he stated.
He disclosed that he used
part of the money to buy a
sophisticated weapon
after removing his tithe.
On what he did with all
the money he stole over
the years, he explained
that he used the money to
enrol his children in
one of the best schools in
Lagos and opened a
supermarket at
Idumagbo on Lagos
Island. He added that he used
a
substantial part of the
money to take care of
himself and his
girlfriends.
On how he was arrested, he
said he was having
fun with his girlfriend in
Ibadan at a popular hotel
when SARS men arrested
him.
When asked how he felt now
that he was
arrested, he replied: “I
know that robbery is a
serious and risky
‘business’ that can cut
short one’s life. If I am given
another chance, I
will abandon it and
engage in a legitimate
business.”
Police sources said
Onifara who is now in custody
at SARS will soon
be charged to court.

How This Nollywood Actress Was Sent To Prison Over Stealing

This is a case that should

serve as a big lesson to

others. Nollywood actress,

Yetunde Akilapa was

arrested in February for

allegedly being in

possession of 100 master

key, which she was

accused of stealing.

She was held in custody

but was later released

after a court discharged

and acquitted her. In a

recent chat with a report,

Yetude who is now trying

to get her groove back

reveals what really

happened:

There is a rumour that

you were set up by your

friends, how true is this?

Yes, it’s true. Some of my

friends set me up.

Why did they do that to

you?

Let me narrate everything

to you from the beginning.

I am into business, I sell

weave-ons. I learnt

hairdressing before joining

acting, it was just that I

had no time for the

business because of my

acting career. I used to

have a salon at Bariga

area of Lagos State, but I

left the place for a friend,

Titi, who is a cousin to

my boyfriend, Wale. The

only thing I didn’t give her

was the weave-ons in the

shop. I told her to sell

them, and that she should

give the money to my

younger sister, who lives

near the shop. However,

she refused to deliver the

money she made from the

sales to my sister. I later

went there to pick up all

my things in the shop and

requested for my money.

To my surprise, she

claimed that there was no

money with her because a

lot of people owed her. An

argument ensued between

her and my sister, which

resulted into a fight during

which she stabbed my

sister. I reported the

matter to the police, who

arrested and detained her.

Her cousin, who was my

boyfriend, and others were

against me over the action

and pleaded with me to

withdraw the case from

the police, which I later

did.

So, how did the set up

happen?

There was a woman I met

at Next Salon at Akoka,

Lagos, who liked what I

sell. I told her I could do

home delivery. We

exchanged numbers and

she gave me her address.

She stays at Fola Agoro,

which is near my place at

Bariga all in Lagos. One

day, I decided to visit her

at home. On getting to the

place she gave as her

residence, the place was

quiet as I didn’t see

anyone outside. I knocked

on the door and someone

came out to attend to me.

But when I asked to see

the woman, who told me

she is called Mama Ayo,

the lady that attended to

me claimed there was

nobody like that in the

place. The woman

thereafter called other

tenants and accused me

of being an informant

because she said they

had robbed the house in

December 2012, and this

incident happened in

March. They ransacked

me and found a bunch of

keys on me, which has

about 15-20 keys. They

claimed they were master

keys I used for robbery.

They later took me to the

police station and I was

detained. My boyfriend

and his cousin later got to

know about my ordeal

They later testified at the

police station that I was

an actress and a bail was

to be arranged for me to

get out of the station but

it didn’t end there. The

police later came to tell

me that my house would

be searched in the

afternoon. The police that

searched my house

reported back to the DPO

and presented the receipts

to him.

At the DPO’s office, a guy

interrogated me and

introduced himself as a

PM. I thought he was a

Production Manager, but

unknown to me, he was a

journalist from PM News.

It was later I got to know

about this. He was the

one that reported in the

media that I was sent to

Kirikiri Prison for robbery.

After leaving the DPO’s

office, I was told that I

would be charged to

court. Three days after, I

was charged to court.

But how did you come

about the 100 bunch of

keys?

This was the handiwork of

the journalist that broke

the story. Let me tell you

something, Titi dated the

DPO because of my

matter. I later got to know

the whole truth of the

matter later . I would have

rot in jail but God helped

me out. She was jealous

of how I get money to do

some things.

Do you still relate with

Titi?

Never, such a person

should not be mingled

with at all because she is

a dangerous elemen

was said to have begun

questioning the paternity

of the children his wife

has for him and the one

she was expecting. Below

are the shocking

revelations...

Mr Victor visited their

home town to complain to

his family and his in-

laws. Consequently, the

families resolved that a

DNA test would be

conducted after the wife

gave birth to the

child . This arrangement,

according to sources,

incensed the wife,

prompting her into plotting

to murder her husband

with her lover, who is a

Pastor.

According to police

sources, Victor returned

from work on Friday

October 22, 2013, his

suspected killers came

and killed him, and put

the mutilated body into

one of his old cars. The

car was driven to Sapele

road, Benin, where it was

set ablaze with his body.

The following Monday,

October 25, the woman

was said to have gone to

her late husband’s office

to report that he was

missing. She was also

said to have reported the

incident of the husband’s

death to the police.

Thereafter, she went to

her husband’s bank where

she allegedly withdrew

N4million from his

account .

It was gathered that

following information to a

staff of the NNPC that a

burnt car was sighted

somewhere along Sapele

Road, they rushed to the

scene and found it was

the late

Mr. Victor Nsongbunyo’s

car.

The NNPC staff rushed to

his wife at their home to

inform her of the finding,

but surprisingly, found her

sitting comfortably at

home watching African

Magic , a situation which

prompted police suspicion

of the woman.

The police were said to

have launched a search

for the car given

to Victor by NNPC

following his promotion,

and the car was

reportedly traced to a

compound at Ekenwan

road in Benin.

The police detectives were

said to have accosted a

lady in the compound

where the car was packed

and she in fear opened

up. She told the police

that the car was packed

by a Pastor who lives in

the compound.

Further investigation by

the police led them to

observe burns in the

Pastor’s left hand and

face. The pastor had

reportedly told the police

that one of his daughters

in the church sowed a

seed with the car.

He was said to have led

the police to the residence

of the said "daughter"

who sowed seed with the

car, but it turned out that

it was the residence of the

deceased and it was the

deceased’s wife.

The police then arrested

PHOTO: Angel Appear During Worship In Redeemed Church

Strange things are really

happening these days. It

is left for you to believe

According to the

some people were

FRESH BORNO VIOLENCE: Boko Haram Ambush Motorist

Hardly a day passed since

unknown

gunmen, allegedly belonging to

the

dreaded Boko Haram sect,

ambushed

motorists in Borno State

villages of

Gwoza-Firgi-Ngurosoya federal

highway,

when, on Monday, another

group of

insurgents assaulted motorists

along the

troubled Maiduguri-Damboa-

Biu road.

The first incident resulted in

death of five

passengers, one of whom was

en route to

Maiduguri to attend his

brother's wedding.

In the course of the second

attack, two

trucks loaded with oranges and

a Toyota car

were set ablaze, and the drivers

were

abducted, their destination still

unknown.

The last incident, it was

gathered, took place

not far away from Iimanti/

Bullabulin

Ngarwa communities, notorious

for

previous deadly road attacks

masterminded

by Boko Haram.

A motorist/driver who managed

to escape

the attack and identified himself

as Mallam

Musa Usman, narrated that the

incident

occurred at about 9am on

Monday. A group

of terrorists, while crossing over

the

highway from their camps in

Sambisa Game

Forests, came across a number

motorists on

the road, barricaded them, and

set the

vehicles ablaze.

Pastor Nabbed For Swindling Woman Of N9,000 For Deliverance

47-year-old Peter Chukwuma,

who posed as a pastor was

arraigned in a Grade 1 Area

Court at Aso

Pada in Mararaba, Nasarawa

State by the

police on Friday for swindling a

woman of

N9,000.

According to the prosecutor, PC

Friday Adaji,

the accused and one other now

at large

tricked one Ms hristiano Ameh

of Kabayi

village, Mararaba into believing

they were

men of God.

Ms Christiana who lodged the

report at the

'A' Division Police Station,

Mararaba on Nov.

29. said she was returning from

work when

the accused came to her and

told her he had

a message from God that the

money she

had on her was blood money.

The accused collected N9,000

and one Itel

mobile phone valued at N7,000

from Ameh

to perform deliverance prayer

that will solve

all her problems.

Adaji added that the accused

disappeared

with the money and mobile

phone to an

unknown destination until he

was arrested.

The accused was charged with

criminal

conspiracy and cheating.

Mr Adaji said that the offence

contravened

the provisions of Sections 97

and 322 of the

Penal Code.

If convicted, the accused could

spend up to

three years in prison or an

option to pay a

fine or both.

The accused, however, pleaded

not guilty

saying, "I am only a labourer,

not a pastor."

The judge, Mr Albert Maga,

admitted the

accused to bail in the sum of

N20,000 and a

surety in like sum and

adjourned the case to

Dec. 19 for hearing.

Criminal Released From Prison Gets Nabbed 48 Hours After For Another

A 22-year-old serial burglar,

David Ekwe, was charged to

Omi

Adio Magistrates' Court on

Monday,

December 2, the second time in

six days,

after he was caught at Ile-Titun

area of

Ibadan with a plasma TV he

allegedly

stole from a house he burgled.

Information gathered had it that

residents

of the area had lodged a

complaint at Eleyele

police station that burglars

usually invaded

their houses between the hours

of 9a.m.

and 4p.m. when they would

have gone out

to their offices or shops.

The Divisional Police Officer,

Deputy

Superintendent of Police

Olawole Ayoola,

reportedly held a meeting with

the head and

members of the community,

after which he

deployed plain-clothes police

detectives in

the area.

The move paid off on Friday,

November 29

when a boy was sighted

loitering. A trap

was reportedly set for him and

not quite

long, he was seen coming from

a street with

a plasma TV in its box. When

apprehended,

Ekwe confessed to have

burgled a house

and when he took policemen to

the house,

it was discovered that not a

single member

of the household was around.

Ekwe further revealed that his

gang had

about four members, with one

of them

already in prison while others

were still

working in other parts of the

city.

Immediately he was brought to

the station,

policemen recognised him as

the suspect

that was charged to court on

November 26

for the same crime. He was

said to have

pleaded guilty at the court,

which made the

magistrate not to waste time

on his case. He

was said to have sentenced the

accused to

one year imprisonment with an

option of

N10,000 fine.

Ironically, the complainant in

the case was

reported to have assisted the

convict in

paying the fine the following

day, which

aided his release from prison

custody on

November 27. He was caught

again 48

hours after.

Ekwe, when taken before the

same

magistrate last Tuesday, was

remanded in

prison custody and his case

adjourned till

December 16.

Manchester United FC Fan Commits Suicide After Newcastle Defeat

Culled From DailyMail..

A man believed to be a fan of

Manchester United Football

Club committed suicide

Saturday night in Nairobi’s

Pipeline estate after the team

lost 1-0 to Newcastle.

Police said John Jimmy

Macharia aged 23 jumped to

his death from the 7th floor of a

building he was after learning

his team had lost in the

Saturday evening match.

According to Nairobi County

police chief Benson Kibue,

Macharia told his friends he

could not stand and watch the

team beaten in a row before he

leapt down dying on the spot.

“All witness accounts suggest

he committed suicide because

the team lost but officers are

still talking to those who were

with him as part of the

investigations into the

incident,” he said.

Kibue advised the youth in the

city to realise the English

Premier League just like any

other sport is a game and they

should not be emotional with it.

“It is not the first time we are

losing a young man because of

the football in England, which is

far away from us. They need to

know that is just a game,” said

Kibue.

The body was later removed

and taken to the mortuary by

police who arrived there.

Macharia is said to have

landed on his head dying

instantly.

Manchester United slumped to

their second home Premier

League defeat in the space of

four days as Yohan Cabaye's

goal gave Newcastle a first

league victory at Old Trafford

since 1972.

INCREDIBLE!! Python Caught On Camera Vomiting A Dog After Swallowing it! [PHOTOS

A massive python was spotted

coughing up a dog it devoured

on the streets of Bangkok.

A cellphone video of the grisly

regurgitation shows the snake

stretch its huge jaw out wide

and back up until the canine is

completely out of its system,

reported Nine News.

“The video tells me that the

python was being stressed —

like someone was poking at it

— because the python will have

a much more difficult time

defending itself if it has a huge

meal in it,” reptile expert and

conservationist Jim Nesci told

the Daily News.

The harrowing clip was posted

to YouTube and LiveLeak,

where it garnered more than

But Nesci suspected that the

incident may have been filmed

by someone familiar with the

snakes.

Nesci said that the python

reticulatus is very common in

southeastern Asia, and he

found it peculiar that someone

happened to have a snake pole

ready to go.

“If you look at the one part

(toward the end of the clip),

that guy has a noose that he

uses,” Nesci said. “It tells me

that they knew right away that

the snake was going to yak up

the dog.”

The only reason other than

stress that a python would

regurgitate its meal would be if

it had digestion trouble, Nesci

explained.

“In nature, predators are very

opportunistic and will eat

whatever they can at the time

because they don’t know when

they can eat next.”

Seven Strongest Military In Africa

When it comes to the military

strength of all

African countries, the keywords

to consider

are “not enough information.”

The Global Fire Power ranking,

or GFP,

measures countries’ military

strength and

assigns a power index number

in order to

compare them to other

countries. Many

factors are taken into

consideration, and

smaller countries can compete

with larger

ones due to points given for

refinement and

technological advancement.

Just seven African countries

are ranked by

the GFP. An inadequate amount

of

information is available to

compare other

countries that are not included.

Based on

available information, the

following

countries represent the most

powerful

militaries on the African

continent in 2013,

according to

GlobalFirepower.com.

Numbers reflect each country’s

power index,

derived from a unique algorithm

developed

by GFP. A perfect score is a

0.0000. The

lower the number, the stronger

the military,

and bonuses and penalties are

added to

country scores as needed.

1. Egypt – Power Index: 0.7569

En.Wikipedia.org

Egypt is put over the top with

regard to

military strength due to the

sheer size of its

armed forces. Nearly 500,000

personnel

serve on its active frontline

force, far

surpassing all of its African

neighbors, as

well as its nearly 10,000

armored fighting

vehicles, 60,000 logistical

vehicles, 900

aircraft, and large oil reserve

from which to

draw. Again, the military has

been

somewhat undermined in the

wake of the

Egyptian Revolution, but some

argue that its

increased role in government

has made it

stronger than ever. Whether or

not this is a

cause for celebration or

concern will remain

hotly debated for some time to

come.

2. Ethiopia – Power Index:

1.1725

TigraIOnline.com

As a landlocked country,

Ethiopia has

focused its resources on

developing its army

and air force to an impressive

degree (the

GFP doesn’t penalize

landlocked countries

for not having a naval force).

Several

hundred thousand personnel

make up its

current force, and they have

significant

numbers of land and air

systems at their

disposal. Furthermore, an

enormous

population that is fit for service

allows

Ethiopia to maintain the

capacity to turn out

an even larger fighting force,

and gives the

country one of the greatest

militaries on the

continent.

3. South Africa – Power Index:

1.2582

BBC.co.uk

As it hasn’t been embroiled in

an

international military conflict for

some time,

South Africa uses its highly

advanced

military for more peacekeeping

and

international cooperation

purposes. Its

aircraft and naval vessels are

notoriously

well-equipped with the latest

technology,

and though the country has

less than

100,000 active frontline

personnel, it has the

capabilities and manpower for

much more.

Add to that a vast array of land

system

technology, and the South

African military is

indeed a force to be reckoned

with.

4. Nigeria – Power Index:

1.3441

YNaija.com

Due to its size, it’s no surprise

that several

hundred thousand troops

comprise the

Nigerian Armed Forces, through

its army,

navy, and air force. Like

Algeria, an abundant

domestic oil supply eases the

financial

burden to be involved in military

conflict,

and it has more than 1,400

armored

vehicles, 360 tanks, and 6,000

logistical

vehicles at its disposal, as well

as nearly 300

aircraft and 25 high-powered

naval vessels.

5. Algeria – Power Index:

1.4107

Al-Monitor.com

As Algeria has a large maritime

border, it

has developed all of its military

capabilities

to an impressively modern

degree, including

its land, sea, and air forces.

Algeria’s active

frontline personnel numbers

more than

127,000 troops and it has

nearly 2,000

armored fighting vehicles at its

disposal.

Algeria also has the added

benefit of its own

oil reserves, allowing it to use

its own fuel to

power tanks, aircraft carriers,

naval vessels,

and more.

6. Kenya – Power Index:

1.6237

Shout-Africa.com

Kenya has established itself as

a vital

participant in international

peacekeeping

missions, and is able to do so

due to a high

merchant marine strength and

an enormous

labor force – resulting in high

available

manpower. Though it doesn’t

possess as

much of its own equipment, its

role as a

member of international teams

allows the

Kenyan military to share

resources with

other countries, strengthening

its own

capabilities at the same time.

7. Libya – Power Index: 1.8428

Alarabiya.net

The strength of Libya’s military

comes mainly

from its large cache of

equipment, despite a

relatively small number of

active troops.

Further hampering Libya’s

abilities is the

continuing violence and unrest

stemming

from the revolution begun in

2011 which

has yet to see a stable

government emerge

from it. Regardless, the country

still has

available 2,500 armored

fighting vehicles,

500 tanks, 600 towed artillery

pieces, 6,500

logistical vehicles, and much

more.

Two Men Charged With Stealing From Paul Walker's Car Crash Wreckage

Two men have been

accused of stealing from

the vehicle that Paul

Walker and Roger Rodas

crashed in. Prosecutors

filed charges against the

two men after they

allegedly stole a part from

the wrecked Porsche

Carrera GT after the car

accident on Nov. 30.

According to Deputy

District Attorney Sera

Boyadjian, both men have

been charged with one

felony count of grand theft

of personal property.

Jameson Brooks Witty and

Anthony Edward Janow

have also been charged

with two misdemeanor

counts each of destroying

evidence and "resisting,

obstructing and delaying a

peace officer."

Janow is due to surrender

on Tuesday, while Witty

already posted bail and is

expected to face a judge

on Jan. 3, 2014.

Prosecutors claim that on

the evening of the fatal

crash, both men stole one

of the roof's panels from a

tow truck carrying the

demolished vehicle when

it was stopped at a red

light in Valencia, Calif.

They also allege that the

crime took place after they

were told by a Los

Angeles County Sheriff's

deputy that they were not

allowed to tamper with the

crime scene in any way

whatsoever.

If both are convicted as

charged, they could face a

maximum of four years,

six months in county jail.

The charges come just

one day after a massive

unofficial memorial rally

and car cruise took place

around the loop where

Walker and Rodas died.

Thousands of Walker fans

and car enthusiasts came

together to place flowers

at the site and remember

the fallen Fast and the

Furious actor.

According to a coroner's

report released Dec. 4,

Walker died of the

combined effects of

traumatic and thermal

injuries resulting from the

crash.

Sack Us Now Or Sign Our Agreements –– ASUU Dares Jonathan

The Academic Staff Union

of Universities, ASUU, on

Monday made good their

decision not to return to

class as directed by the

Federal Government until

all the agreement reached

are properly signed.

“How can you call

off a strike when

there is nothing to

show for it? The

government is not

qualified to call off

the strike. Our union

is awaiting the

government to state

all it has done in

black and white .

However, it is a

serious insult on us

for the government

to be harassing us

with sacking threat.

We are not casual

workers or labourers.

Our research work

has been ongoing.”

The striking university

teachers also refused to

sign any form of

attendance registers in

their institutions as was

directed by the

government.

They said they were only

waiting for the sack letters

the Federal Government

threatened to give them if

they did not return to

work..

The National Treasurer of

ASUU, Dr. Ademola

Aremu, said they would

have wasted their time

and effort if they caved in

and returned to work

under threat.

Also, the UNICAL ASUU

Chairman, Dr. James

Okpiliya, insisted that the

Federal Government must

meet the lecturers’

demands before the strike

could be suspended

Rev Father Pulls Out Gun, Threatens To Shoot Church Members in Imo State

It appears we are truly

approaching the much

talked about end time. As

you read this, a Catholic

priest in Imo State is

being investigated by the

police after reports that he

was illegally in

possession of weapons.

The Reverend Father is

said to be in charge of a

parish in the Dikenafai

environs of the Ideato

South LGA of the state.

He is said to have

threatened members of

his parish and

endangered their lives

with three unlicensed

guns believed to be in his

possession, without

approval.

As a result of the

Reverend Father's action,

many are now afraid of

going to the church.

Crime Guard reliably

gathered that the guns

which include one pump

action riffle, one double-

barrelled gun and a

locally-made pistol

allegedly belonging to the

priest were recovered

from his official residence

by operatives of Special

Armed Robbery Squad,

SARS, Imo State Police

Command acting on a tip

off from some concerned

parishioners.

Described as a very

controversial priest, the

reverend father was

arrested and detained

briefly but granted bail by

the police following the

intervention of some

influential religious and

political leaders in the

state.

Police sources said that

the controversy

surrounding the Catholic

priest stemmed from a

tragedy that occurred in

January 2010, after the

death of a prominent

indigene of the area.

Meanwhile, investigation

into the case is ongoing

by the police to ascertain

the source of the guns

and possibly the actual

purposes they are being

used for.

The Rev Father may be

charged to court after full

police investigation had

been concluded.

Tension In Abuja As House of Reps Finally Moves To APC

For the first time in the

last 14 years, a majority

of the National Assembly

in Nigeria is now

dominated by the leading

opposition party, the APC.

The political development

is highly unsettling. The

stakes are high but the

odds may even be higher,

as the House Speaker, Rt

Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, is

set to unveil the reality.

The House of Reps is now

revelling in jubilation over

the fortunes recorded by

the APC...

With the defection of

Governors Chibuike

Amaechi, Aliyu Wamakko,

Murtala Nyako, Abdulfatah

Ahmed and Rabiu Musa

Kwankwaso to the APC,

the political equation in

Nigeria has changed

drastically.

After a long battle with

President Jonathan and

the PDP leadership, the

governors in concert with

lawmakers controlled by

them and other dissident

PDP chieftains, defected

to the APC.

The decision of the big

shots to move over has

become a subject for

frenzied debate.

The defection of the

governors have resonated

in the National Assembly.

Though the elation is

controlled for now, but it

is set to bob up to a

frenzy this week when the

defectors finally declare

their allegiance for APC
