Scores Killed As Boko Haram Attacks Air Force Base In Maiduguri

Suspected Boko Haram

terrorists, Monday morning,

attacked the Composite

Group Air force Base and

other places in Maiduguri,

the Borno state capital.

The siege which started at

about 3am shook the town

as sporadic gunshots and

other Rocket Propelled

Grenade Launchers fire

were heard, with ensuing

airstrikes in Maiduguri and

Jere metropolis till 8 am.

Sources said during the

attacks on the Air force

Base and other targets,

including the Maiduguri

International Airport, several

people were killed as the

terrorists, numbering over

300 planted explosives in

targeted areas in the state

capital.

Also attacked are, the newly

constructed trailer park,

along Damaturu- Maiduguri

road, military check points,

residential and public

buildings, which according

to the source led to high

casulities among the

terrorists and security

agencies.

An eye witness who resides

in Gomari airport area, just

few metres away to the Air

force Base said, ” I saw 5

military operational vehicles

conveying dead bodies to

the hospital at about 6am,

the dead bodies were

suspected to be security

agents killed during the

attack”.

It was also gathered that,

over a hundred terrorists

were killed by military

airstrikes in the counter

offensive.

ASUU to Parents: Keep Your Children at Home, Strike is Still On

The Academic Staff Union of

Universities, ASUU, has warned

parents not to endanger the

lives of their wards and children

by sending them to their

university campuses, as

directed by the Federal

Government.

“Don’t risk the lives of your

children and wards. Keep them

at home because ASUU will not

teach. Soldiers and the police

deployed by the Federal

Government will not teach.

Wike can come and teach in the

universities. It is a huge joke to

sack lecturers. Our strike must

not be in vain. Our students

must see the results."

ASUU, which also directed all

its members not to sign

attendance registers in their

institutions, lashed out at the

Federal Government for lack of

consistency in its statements

on the ongoing strike.

The Supervising Minister of

Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike,

had at a news conference in

Abuja on Thursday, threatened

that any ASUU member that

failed to resume on or before

December 4th would be

sacked.

Wike also directed vice-

chancellors to advertise

vacancies (internal and

external) in their institutions.

He told the vice-chancellors to

open attendance registers for

lecturers that resumed in their

universities.

The Government then directed

the Inspector-General of Police,

Mohammed Abubakar, to

deploy policemen in all the

federal universities.

But the Chairman, University of

Ibadan chapter of ASUU, Dr.

Segun Ajiboye, said parents

should keep their children and

wards at home as no academic

activity would resume until the

strike is properly called off.

Ajiboye added, “It is funny. We

thought we are in a democracy.

I assure Nigerians that we

know what the law says about

the strike. Our job is statue

backed. We are not threatened.

We do not trust the

government. The record of the

government is clear. This

government is dishonouring

agreements. Our members are

resolved to pursue this to a

logical conclusion.

“If ASUU could withstand

Babangida, this government

cannot threaten us. We have

worked this road before, the

only thing that will work is

peaceful resolution. It is sad

that government wants to sack

us because we are asking for

the resolutions. We are ready

to be sacked but government

should learn from the University

of Ilorin experience. We are

going to stay the course.”

ASUU President, Dr. Nassir

Fagge, urged the lecturers to be

resolute. He said:

“Comrades, can you see the

unfolding drama? Now

Jonathan says they didn’t give

ultimatum. That the vice-

chancellors did and Wike

became their trumpet. But

NUC’s (National Universities

Commission) ultimatum is by

the Federal Government to us

to resume or get sacked.

“Wike’s press address says ‘FG

has directed’ not ‘VCs have

directed.’ Be calm, stay

resolute. By God’s grace, we

are on course.”

Pastor Chris Okotie's Bombshell: Why Catholics Will Go to Hell

I don't know what has come

over our big-grammar pastor o.

Lol...

"All Catholics in the world will

go to hell because they worship

Satan and are led by an Anti-

Christ Pope who is a friend to

the devil", Nigeria’s

controversial preacher and

former presidential candidate,

Chris Okotie, told his

congregation on Sunday,

leaving members bewildered.

“ They don’t believe in heaven.

They believe in purgatory, the

purgatory that they invented,”

Fifty-five year old Okotie, while

preaching in his Household of

God Church in Ikeja area of

Lagos on Sunday, said the

Catholic church is “a

counterfeit church set up by

Satan” and that Catholics “bow

to idols and crucify Jesus every

Sunday when they eat bread

claiming they are eating Jesus’

body.”

Pastor Okotie stressed: “They

are not Christians and have

never been.”

“They don’t know Jesus. They

believe that when they eat

bread on Sundays, they are

eating the body of Jesus. It’s

ritual,” he told his stunned

congregation.

According to Simon

Ateba, Okotie said Pope Francis

is an Anti-Christ who does the

job of the devil and that time is

fast approaching when the

Catholic church will pledge

allegiance to Satan.

“The pope is an Anti-Christ and

the Catholic church will soon

declare for Satan. This is the

end of times,” Okotie erupted.

He advised members of his

church to come to the rescue of

Catholics and evangelise

them. This, he said, was not

out of disrespect but out of

respect for the word of God.

He said those who know the

truth should bring it to those

who do not know it in the

Catholic Church.

Okotie said one of the Catholic

most revered Popes, Pope John

Paul 11, surrendered the

Catholic Church to Mary, the

earthly mother of Jesus Christ,

instead of Jesus himself. He

said even the current Pope

Francis has also done same.

He said Catholics are not

Christians and do not worship

the same Christ that he

preaches in his church, at least

the one spoken about in the

Bible.

Okotie said he did not write the

Bible but it was clear to him

that those in the Catholic

church were lost and were

heading to hell fire.

“That church, the Catholic

church has been there for

Satan and at the right time,

they will declare for Satan,”

Okotie said.

Okotie who has been married

twice and divorced also twice

said a beauty pageant will take

place in his church next

Sunday to select the most

beautiful woman in his church.

He also said that Nigeria’s

famous preacher Prophet T.B.

Joshua is the son of the devil

and his followers will go

straight to hell.

But funny enough, in recent

years, the same Pastor Okotie

has been saying that God has

anointed him to be the

President of Nigeria. That

prophecy has not come to pass

in 2 presidential elections that

he participated in.

PDP In Edo Offers N250,000 Compensation To ‘go And Die’ Widow

The Peoples Democratic

Party (PDP) Edo State, has

condemned the inhuman

treatment meted out on a

widow by the State

Governor, Comrade Adams

Oshiomhole.

The PDP in rescue of the

widow has asked the widow

to come to their office and

get the sum of N250,000 to

help cushion the effects her

siezed goods will have on

her.

This was contained in a

press release signed by the

state chairman, Dan Orbih.

PRESS RELEASE

Edo PDP watched with

consternation Governor

Adams Oshiomhole’s brutal,

inhuman and merciless

treatment of a widow street-

trader whose wares he

ordered seized and who he

unfeelingly told to ‘…go and

die’ even as she knelt down

in fervent protestations and

appeals to his pity on a

helpless widow.The

governor’s actions are

appalling, insensate,

disgraceful, indecent, cruel

and below board.

It is clear that he does not

care much about the well

being of the people as he

pretentiously avowed.

Our hearts go to that

hapless widow in this her

time of travails and through

her, to other widows who

have been oppressed by the

unfriendly policies of the

administration in Edo State.

The PDP, Edo State will not

let any Edo person ‘to go

and die’ if it can help it,

especially not hardworking

people like that widow who

are engaged in lawful

enterprises that are, in

themselves, not easy to

carry on.

To this end, our party has

instituted an endowment

fund for all widows and

oppressed people in the

state and by this release,

we invite the widow

captured in the video of the

encounter with Governor

Oshiomhole to come to the

PDP Secretariat on No. 70,

Sapele Road, at 11am on

Tuesday December 3, 2013

to receive a first-installment

sum of N250,000.00 to

cushion the pain, trauma

and loss occasioned by her

mistreatment and the

seizure of the items she

sells.

Governance is about the

people and as a responsible

National Institution, Edo

PDP cannot be

unconcerned about the

wrong treatment of

indigenes of the state to

whom the present

administration promised

heaven just to win their

votes.

We will continue to stand in

the gap to ensure that Edo

people are deservedly fairly

treatment.

If Governor Oshiomhole

believes that Edo People

sinned by voting him into

office, let him remember

that he will account for his

actions, if not to the people

because he apparently does

not think much of them, but

to God Almighty in the short

or long run.

We thank all those who

have been humanely

concerned about the plight

of the widow and have

stood out vehemently

against the crying shame

that was the insensitive

action of a governor who

seems bent on repaying

electoral favor with

ingratitude.

Read Simon Kolawole's Exposé On The APC and nPDP Merger

Maybe I am seeing things

that many observers

cannot see yet. Or maybe

I am deluded. But I will

continue to say that the

current blossoming of a

viable opposition is going

to be one of the greatest

catalysts for democracy

and development in

Nigeria. With the defection

of five PDP governors to

the APC, we are now

entering a phase in our

democracy where the

ruling party and the

opposition are almost

evenly matched, at least

on paper.

I, for one, had been

impatient with the PDP

governors because they

had been threatening

endlessly to defect to the

APC. Governor Murtala

Nyako (Adamawa) had

made it a daily habit to

announce that he was on

his way to the APC office

in Yola to pick

membership form. That’s

a done deal now.

But there are two broad

reactions to the latest

development...

Some are so excited.

They say it marks the end

of the 'evil' PDP and the

imminent enthronement of

'progressives' to “save

Nigeria” from misrule. To

these people, I say: calm

down. You don’t move

from being a “bad”

governor to a “good”

governor simply because

you defected from one

party to the other

yesterday. You don’t

suddenly become

Nigeria’s saviour because

you left PDP for APC after

a disagreement over the

national cake.

Like I have always said,

the PDP crisis is a falling-

out among a committee of

friends. It is not about

potable water or education

or healthcare. It is pure

power play. It is about

2015 elections. Who gets

the presidential ticket?

Who will be the running

mate? Whose son will be

governor in Adamawa

State? Nyako’s or

Bamanga Tukur’s?

On the other side, you

have people unfairly

condemning the

opposition. They said APC

is doomed to fail, that it is

a congregation of crooks,

that the party is just

driven by the lust for

power with all kinds of

characters jumping on the

bandwagon. Someone

pointed out that APC is

filled with people who

never see eye-to-eye on

matters such as fiscal

federalism, quota system,

federal character, state

police, “true federalism”

and all that.

To this group, I say:

what’s your problem? To

start with, we cannot

change government

democratically without

these politicians. I can

write all that I like on this

page every Sunday, but it

is politicians that are in

charge. Therefore, if we

want to change Nigeria

democratically, we need

these same politicians we

condemn. Change their

thinking and you will

change the fortunes of

Nigeria.

Let me say this again and

again and again: I do not

believe PDP is a party of

sinners and APC is a

party of saints. I do not

believe only PDP rigs or

only PDP is filled with

corrupt and inept leaders.

I would love to say that in

order to earn some

applause, but my

conscience will not allow

me. Nigerian politicians,

no matter their party,

language and religion, are

basically the same. Let

me be clear about that.

That is why they find it so

easy to swap political

parties from time to time

without feeling out of

place, without having to

battle any contradictions.

They are at home

anywhere they find

themselves.

It is the same set of

people that are circulating

and re-circulating in the

political space. Let’s not

kid ourselves.

Having said that, however,

let me quickly state my

position and then

conclude. I wrote, over

two years ago, that 2015

is going to be the tightest

election ever. I still stand

by my postulation. The

dynamics are already

pointing in that direction. I

cannot categorically say

that PDP will lose or APC

will win, but I can

confidently say that it is

not going to be a piece of

cake for either party. In

the past, PDP went into a

general election knowing

it was going to be a walk-

over, mainly because of a

heavily fragmented

opposition. Winning

PDP’s ticket was as good

as winning the election,

and the battle for PDP’s

tickets was, in many

instances, fiercer than the

actual election.

That effectively meant the

PDP had no incentive to

deliver the goods. It was

all too easy for them.

This puts the emerging

strong, viable opposition

into perspective. Under

normal circumstances,

President Goodluck

Jonathan should now

become desperate to

deliver democracy

dividends in order to win

public support ahead of

the 2015 elections. He still

has enough time in his

hands. On its part, the

APC should be raising the

game through well-

articulated alternative

policies and programmes,

showing off their

credentials in states they

currently govern as the

basis for Nigerians to

choose them ahead of the

PDP. Invariably, the

parties will have to sweat

for every vote.

Okay, there is the rigging

factor. I have discounted

that. Nigerian politicians

are, genetically, election

riggers. There will be

balance of rigging, as it

were.

Now, if my calculations

turn out fine - that is,

Jonathan rolls up his

sleeves and delivers more

democracy dividends and

APC raises the ante by

trying to outperform PDP

in the states - then

Nigeria and Nigerians will

be the unintended

beneficiaries of this new

wave of politicking. And

that way, our democracy

will begin to deliver

development. Hopefully

How Naija Babe Stole Her Boyfriend's Gold Necklace During Séx

With Naija babes, shame

is a scarce commodity.

26-year-old Tessy

Emorvon, who stole a gold

necklace from her guy,

shocked operatives of the

Special Anti Robbery

Squad (SARS) in Lagos,

when she suddenly dipped

her fingers into her vagina

and produced the

N850,000 necklace after

several days in detention.

Trouble started when

Cosmos, her boyfriend,

realized that the gold

necklace that he wore

while having sex with

Tessy was missing. He

immediately raised the

alarm...

The occupants of the

hotel, including Tessy,

were arrested. They were

all searched and the gold

chain was not found. Not

satisfied with their claim

that they were not aware

of where the gold chain

was kept, Cosmos quickly

alerted the police at Area

F, Ikeja.

At the police station,

Tessy insisted that she

knew nothing about the

stolen gold necklace.

Having been detained for

two days, she was

granted bail while

investigation continued.

But Tessy was

immediately re-arrested

by detectives at SARS,

Ikeja when the owner of

the necklace, Cosmos

alerted them that his

girlfriend who believed

stole his necklace, had

been granted bail.

The officer in-charge of

SARS, SP Abba Kyari

ordered his men to take

Tessy in for their own

tough process of

interrogation. But terrified

that she could be treated

like an armed robber,

Tessy quickly confessed

and agreed to produce the

golden necklace from

where she had kept it.

The policemen however

got the shock of their

lives when she started

undressing. Embarrassed,

the officers asked if she

had lost her senses and

Tessy insisted that she

was trying to bring out the

necklace. She dipped her

fingers inside her vagina

and pulled out a piece of

cotton wool soaked with

blood.

To the surprise of all

present, inside it was the

stolen necklace.

Meanwhile, Cosmos said

he had strong feelings

that the gold necklace

was with Tessy as she

had threatened severally

that she would disappear

with it. " I have heard so

much of the exploits of

SARS, Ikeja, so I quickly

rushed to the office and

filed a fresh report when I

learnt that they wanted to

release her. Actually, she

drugged me, before taking

the necklace ," Cosmos

added.

Confessing to her crime,

Tessy said:

"This man is very stingy

and hardly pays well at

the end of a hot sex

session with him. He is

actually my boyfriend and

I have dated him for more

than a year. Most of the

time, he will have sex with

me and go home giving

excuses why he would not

give me a kobo. I always

let it go because I knew

that at the end of the day,

I would make money from

other customers. Since he

is the only one that I

normally had sex with

without condom, I was

enjoying the relationship.

"Few days before the

incident, he came with a

gold necklace and told me

that it was worth

N850,000. I felt bad that a

man who can afford to

buy a necklace that's

worth that much could not

give his girlfriend money

for maintenance. The next

day, he came with another

necklace and at that point

I made up my mind that I

would steal it. He slept a

lot after sex, so it was

easy for me to take the

necklace and hide it.

Naturally, I knew that they

will strip me in an attempt

to find the necklace, so I

had no choice but to hide

it in the safest place in

my body. My vagina."

Funny enough, Mr

Cosmos is a married

man. According to Tessy,

"It was when the

argument started that she

got to know that Cosmos

is a married man with

children. His brother

suddenly surfaced and

accused him of

abandoning his wife who

is a nursing mother at

home. I was so

disappointed because, he

had promised to marry

me ."

Lagos State Police

Command are yet to

decide if Tessy will be

charged to court or not.

Meet The Man Tinubu Wants to Take Over as Governor in Lagos

Strong indications have

emerged that the

leadership of All

Progressives Congress in

Lagos have acquiesced to

the request of Christians

in the state for a Christian

governor in 2015. The

candidate of choice is Ayo

Gbeleyi, the present

Commissioner of Finance

in the administration of

quintessential Governor

Babatunde Fashola.

The decision to present a

Christian candidate

emerged after due

consultations with

eminent Christian leaders

and clerics who have

promised to mobilise

other faithfuls to vote

enmasse for the party if a

Christian emerges as

gubernatorial candidate in

the state. The leadership

of the APC, after a

thorough search, have

found a willing and

reliable Christian

candidate in Ayo Gbeleyi,

a thoroughbred

professional known for his

exceptional brilliance and

intelligence.

Since the searchlight has

beamed on Gbeleyi,

Christian leaders are

delighted that Asiwaju

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has

not only heeded to their

demands but responded

accordingly.

They had argued that

Moslems have

successively governed the

state since the inception

of democracy. It is just

fair and equitable to allow

a Christian to govern

Lagos, given the fact that

successive governors of

the state since 1999 that

democracy returned have

been Moslems. Besides,

they argued that the three

Senatorial seats are

occupied by Moslems.

The call for a Christian

governor, observers of

politics in the state

reasoned is not to ignite

any religious crisis but to

ensure balance and

equity.

Observers opined that the

efforts of successive

administrations in the

state in areas of

governance,

accountability and

reliability are not and

should not be exclusive of

faith or religion.

A thoroughbred candidate

like Gbeleyi, they posited,

is equally suitable for the

exalted post. With his

pedigree and insights in

public service, finance,

procurement, construction,

project management, etc,

he is, no doubt, a round

peg in a round hole. It

could be recalled that he

single-handedly planned

and made a major

breakthrough with his

well-thoughout Public

Private Partnership (PPP)

initiative in Lagos. While

he served as the Director-

General of the parastatal,

he also doubled as the

Senior Adviser to the

Executive Governor

Babatunde Raji Fashola

on the project.

Over time, his visionary

leadership amid pressure,

necessity and even

adversity on several

projects in his purview

yielded unprecedented

positivity and growth that

sooner than ever, Lagos

becomes an envy spot in

PPP. Commendable is his

ability to work seamlessly

with the Ministries

Department Agencies

(MDAs) to realise and

institutionalise Lagos of

our dream and the

government strides to

make the state a Megacity

is achieved.

The beauty and elegance

we see in the services of

the Bus Rapid Transit,

(BRT), Lekki-Epe Toll

Concession, the

Independent Power Plant,

Oluwole and Tejuoso

Market Developments,

Adeniran Ogunsanya Ultra

Modern Shopping and

Retail Commercial Centres

are some of the lofty

ideas he has shared and

executed with the support

of the purposeful

leadership in the saddle of

governance in the state.

Asiwaju Tinubu, after wide

consultations with all

interest groups and

political blocs in the state,

is optimistic that Gbeleyi

with his background can

effortlessly manage the

internally generated

revenue of over N18billion

of the state and continue

in the stride of previous

governments to make

Lagos an enviable

commercial base.

It takes a visionary leader

to fish out a promising

successor.

Asiwaju, from all

ramifications have proven

that he knows one when

he sees one. His ability

and confidence in his

choice of BRF as his

successor has proven his

insightful leadership. He

will not go wrong with

Ayo Gbeleyi.

According to reliable

sources, Gbeleyi, in

readiness for the task

ahead, has not only

received the nod of top

ans formidable

stakeholders in politics, he

has built a financial war

chest to prosecute his

electionering campaign.

His readiness from all

fronts, our sources hinted,

gives Asiwaju a strong

conviction that he is the

man for the job and other

contenders are

pretenders. He has also

built a formidable media

team to actualise his

dream.

For Gbeleyi, it has been a

calculated rise to the top.

His recent appointment on

the recommendation of

his immediate past boss,

the former Finance

Commissioner, Hon.

Tokunbo Abiru, the

express approval by the

Executive Governor

Babatunde Raji Fashola

and the state's Assembly

speak volume of his

character and disposition

towards public service.

With his record of

service, wisdom and

support from all

stakeholders and the

people of Lagos State,

Hon. Ayo Gbeleyi is

poised to steer the ship of

the state to greater

heights.

ASUU to Parents: Keep Your Children at Home, Strike is Still On

The Academic Staff Union of

Sunday when they eat bread

claiming they are eating Jesus’

body.”

Pastor Okotie stressed: “They

are not Christians and have

never been.”

“They don’t know Jesus. They

believe that when they eat

bread on Sundays, they are

eating the body of Jesus. It’s

ritual,” he told his stunned

congregation.

According to Simon

Ateba, Okotie said Pope Francis

is an Anti-Christ who does the

job of the devil and that time is

fast approaching when the

Catholic church will pledge

allegiance to Satan.

“The pope is an Anti-Christ and

the Catholic church will soon

declare for Satan. This is the

end of times,” Okotie erupted.

He advised members of his

church to come to the rescue of

Catholics and evangelise

them. This, he said, was not

out of disrespect but out of

respect for the word of God.

He said those who know the

truth should bring it to those

who do not know it in the

Catholic Church.

Okotie said one of the Catholic

most revered Popes, Pope John

Paul 11, surrendered the

Catholic Church to Mary, the

earthly mother of Jesus Christ,

instead of Jesus himself. He

said even the current Pope

Francis has also done same.

He said Catholics are not

Christians and do not worship

the same Christ that he

preaches in his church, at least

the one spoken about in the

Bible.

Okotie said he did not write the

Bible but it was clear to him

that those in the Catholic

church were lost and were

heading to hell fire.

“That church, the Catholic

church has been there for

Satan and at the right time,

they will declare for Satan,”

Okotie said.

Okotie who has been married

twice and divorced also twice

said a beauty pageant will take

place in his church next

Sunday to select the most

beautiful woman in his church.

He also said that Nigeria’s

famous preacher Prophet T.B.

Joshua is the son of the devil

and his followers will go

straight to hell.

But funny enough, in recent

years, the same Pastor Okotie

has been saying that God has

anointed him to be the

President of Nigeria. That

prophecy has not come to pass

in 2 presidential elections that

he participated in.

PDP In Edo Offers N250,000 Compensation To ‘go And Die’ Widow

The Peoples Democratic

Party (PDP) Edo State, has

condemned the inhuman

treatment meted out on a

widow by the State

Governor, Comrade Adams

Oshiomhole.

The PDP in rescue of the

widow has asked the widow

to come to their office and

get the sum of N250,000 to

help cushion the effects her

siezed goods will have on

her.

This was contained in a

press release signed by the

state chairman, Dan Orbih.

PRESS RELEASE

Edo PDP watched with

consternation Governor

Adams Oshiomhole’s brutal,

inhuman and merciless

treatment of a widow street-

trader whose wares he

ordered seized and who he

unfeelingly told to ‘…go and

die’ even as she knelt down

in fervent protestations and

appeals to his pity on a

helpless widow.The

governor’s actions are

appalling, insensate,

disgraceful, indecent, cruel

and below board.

It is clear that he does not

care much about the well

being of the people as he

pretentiously avowed.

Our hearts go to that

hapless widow in this her

time of travails and through

her, to other widows who

have been oppressed by the

unfriendly policies of the

administration in Edo State.

The PDP, Edo State will not

let any Edo person ‘to go

and die’ if it can help it,

especially not hardworking

people like that widow who

are engaged in lawful

enterprises that are, in

themselves, not easy to

carry on.

To this end, our party has

instituted an endowment

fund for all widows and

oppressed people in the

state and by this release,

we invite the widow

captured in the video of the

encounter with Governor

Oshiomhole to come to the

PDP Secretariat on No. 70,

Sapele Road, at 11am on

Tuesday December 3, 2013

to receive a first-installment

sum of N250,000.00 to

cushion the pain, trauma

and loss occasioned by her

mistreatment and the

seizure of the items she

sells.

Governance is about the

people and as a responsible

National Institution, Edo

PDP cannot be

unconcerned about the

wrong treatment of

indigenes of the state to

whom the present

administration promised

heaven just to win their

votes.

We will continue to stand in

the gap to ensure that Edo

people are deservedly fairly

treatment.

If Governor Oshiomhole

believes that Edo People

sinned by voting him into

office, let him remember

that he will account for his

actions, if not to the people

because he apparently does

not think much of them, but

to God Almighty in the short

or long run.

We thank all those who

have been humanely

concerned about the plight

of the widow and have

stood out vehemently

against the crying shame

that was the insensitive

action of a governor who

seems bent on repaying

electoral favor with

ingratitude.

Read Simon Kolawole's Exposé On The APC and nPDP Merger

Maybe I am seeing things

that many observers

cannot see yet. Or maybe

I am deluded. But I will

continue to say that the

current blossoming of a

viable opposition is going

to be one of the greatest

catalysts for democracy

and development in

Nigeria. With the defection

of five PDP governors to

the APC, we are now

entering a phase in our

democracy where the

ruling party and the

opposition are almost

evenly matched, at least

on paper.

I, for one, had been

impatient with the PDP

governors because they

had been threatening

endlessly to defect to the

APC. Governor Murtala

Nyako (Adamawa) had

made it a daily habit to

announce that he was on

his way to the APC office

in Yola to pick

membership form. That’s

a done deal now.

But there are two broad

reactions to the latest

development...

Some are so excited.

They say it marks the end

of the 'evil' PDP and the

imminent enthronement of

'progressives' to “save

Nigeria” from misrule. To

these people, I say: calm

down. You don’t move

from being a “bad”

governor to a “good”

governor simply because

you defected from one

party to the other

yesterday. You don’t

suddenly become

Nigeria’s saviour because

you left PDP for APC after

a disagreement over the

national cake.

Like I have always said,

the PDP crisis is a falling-

out among a committee of

friends. It is not about

potable water or education

or healthcare. It is pure

power play. It is about

2015 elections. Who gets

the presidential ticket?

Who will be the running

mate? Whose son will be

governor in Adamawa

State? Nyako’s or

Bamanga Tukur’s?

On the other side, you

have people unfairly

condemning the

opposition. They said APC

is doomed to fail, that it is

a congregation of crooks,

that the party is just

driven by the lust for

power with all kinds of

characters jumping on the

bandwagon. Someone

pointed out that APC is

filled with people who

never see eye-to-eye on

matters such as fiscal

federalism, quota system,

federal character, state

police, “true federalism”

and all that.

To this group, I say:

what’s your problem? To

start with, we cannot

change government

democratically without

these politicians. I can

write all that I like on this

page every Sunday, but it

is politicians that are in

charge. Therefore, if we

want to change Nigeria

democratically, we need

these same politicians we

condemn. Change their

thinking and you will

change the fortunes of

Nigeria.

Let me say this again and

again and again: I do not

believe PDP is a party of

sinners and APC is a

party of saints. I do not

believe only PDP rigs or

only PDP is filled with

corrupt and inept leaders.

I would love to say that in

order to earn some

applause, but my

conscience will not allow

me. Nigerian politicians,

no matter their party,

language and religion, are

basically the same. Let

me be clear about that.

That is why they find it so

easy to swap political

parties from time to time

without feeling out of

place, without having to

battle any contradictions.

They are at home

anywhere they find

themselves.

It is the same set of

people that are circulating

and re-circulating in the

political space. Let’s not

kid ourselves.

Having said that, however,

let me quickly state my

position and then

conclude. I wrote, over

two years ago, that 2015

is going to be the tightest

election ever. I still stand

by my postulation. The

dynamics are already

pointing in that direction. I

cannot categorically say

that PDP will lose or APC

will win, but I can

confidently say that it is

not going to be a piece of

cake for either party. In

the past, PDP went into a

general election knowing

it was going to be a walk-

over, mainly because of a

heavily fragmented

opposition. Winning

PDP’s ticket was as good

as winning the election,

and the battle for PDP’s

tickets was, in many

instances, fiercer than the

actual election.

That effectively meant the

PDP had no incentive to

deliver the goods. It was

all too easy for them.

This puts the emerging

strong, viable opposition

into perspective. Under

normal circumstances,

President Goodluck

Jonathan should now

become desperate to

deliver democracy

dividends in order to win

public support ahead of

the 2015 elections. He still

has enough time in his

hands. On its part, the

APC should be raising the

game through well-

articulated alternative

policies and programmes,

showing off their

credentials in states they

currently govern as the

basis for Nigerians to

choose them ahead of the

PDP. Invariably, the

parties will have to sweat

for every vote.

Okay, there is the rigging

factor. I have discounted

that. Nigerian politicians

are, genetically, election

riggers. There will be

balance of rigging, as it

were.

Now, if my calculations

turn out fine - that is,

Jonathan rolls up his

sleeves and delivers more

democracy dividends and

APC raises the ante by

trying to outperform PDP

in the states - then

Nigeria and Nigerians will

be the unintended

beneficiaries of this new

wave of politicking. And

that way, our democracy

will begin to deliver

development. Hopefully

How Naija Babe Stole Her Boyfriend's Gold Necklace During Séx

With Naija babes, shame

is a scarce commodity.

26-year-old Tessy

Emorvon, who stole a gold

necklace from her guy,

shocked operatives of the

Special Anti Robbery

Squad (SARS) in Lagos,

when she suddenly dipped

her fingers into her vagina

and produced the

N850,000 necklace after

several days in detention.

Trouble started when

Cosmos, her boyfriend,

realized that the gold

necklace that he wore

while having sex with

Tessy was missing. He

immediately raised the

alarm...

The occupants of the

hotel, including Tessy,

were arrested. They were

all searched and the gold

chain was not found. Not

satisfied with their claim

that they were not aware

of where the gold chain

was kept, Cosmos quickly

alerted the police at Area

F, Ikeja.

At the police station,

Tessy insisted that she

knew nothing about the

stolen gold necklace.

Having been detained for

two days, she was

granted bail while

investigation continued.

But Tessy was

immediately re-arrested

by detectives at SARS,

Ikeja when the owner of

the necklace, Cosmos

alerted them that his

girlfriend who believed

stole his necklace, had

been granted bail.

The officer in-charge of

SARS, SP Abba Kyari

ordered his men to take

Tessy in for their own

tough process of

interrogation. But terrified

that she could be treated

like an armed robber,

Tessy quickly confessed

and agreed to produce the

golden necklace from

where she had kept it.

The policemen however

got the shock of their

lives when she started

undressing. Embarrassed,

the officers asked if she

had lost her senses and

Tessy insisted that she

was trying to bring out the

necklace. She dipped her

fingers inside her vagina

and pulled out a piece of

cotton wool soaked with

blood.

To the surprise of all

present, inside it was the

stolen necklace.

Meanwhile, Cosmos said

he had strong feelings

that the gold necklace

was with Tessy as she

had threatened severally

that she would disappear

with it. " I have heard so

much of the exploits of

SARS, Ikeja, so I quickly

rushed to the office and

filed a fresh report when I

learnt that they wanted to

release her. Actually, she

drugged me, before taking

the necklace ," Cosmos

added.

Confessing to her crime,

Tessy said:

"This man is very stingy

and hardly pays well at

the end of a hot sex

session with him. He is

actually my boyfriend and

I have dated him for more

than a year. Most of the

time, he will have sex with

me and go home giving

excuses why he would not

give me a kobo. I always

let it go because I knew

that at the end of the day,

I would make money from

other customers. Since he

is the only one that I

normally had sex with

without condom, I was

enjoying the relationship.

"Few days before the

incident, he came with a

gold necklace and told me

that it was worth

N850,000. I felt bad that a

man who can afford to

buy a necklace that's

worth that much could not

give his girlfriend money

for maintenance. The next

day, he came with another

necklace and at that point

I made up my mind that I

would steal it. He slept a

lot after sex, so it was

easy for me to take the

necklace and hide it.

Naturally, I knew that they

will strip me in an attempt

to find the necklace, so I

had no choice but to hide

it in the safest place in

my body. My vagina."

Funny enough, Mr

Cosmos is a married

man. According to Tessy,

"It was when the

argument started that she

got to know that Cosmos

is a married man with

children. His brother

suddenly surfaced and

accused him of

abandoning his wife who

is a nursing mother at

home. I was so

disappointed because, he

had promised to marry

me ."

Lagos State Police

Command are yet to

decide if Tessy will be

charged to court or not.

Meet The Man Tinubu Wants to Take Over as Governor in Lagos

Strong indications have

emerged that the

leadership of All

Progressives Congress in

Lagos have acquiesced to

the request of Christians

in the state for a Christian

governor in 2015. The

candidate of choice is Ayo

Gbeleyi, the present

Commissioner of Finance

in the administration of

quintessential Governor

Babatunde Fashola.

The decision to present a

Christian candidate

emerged after due

consultations with

eminent Christian leaders

and clerics who have

promised to mobilise

other faithfuls to vote

enmasse for the party if a

Christian emerges as

gubernatorial candidate in

the state. The leadership

of the APC, after a

thorough search, have

found a willing and

reliable Christian

candidate in Ayo Gbeleyi,

a thoroughbred

professional known for his

exceptional brilliance and

intelligence.

Since the searchlight has

beamed on Gbeleyi,

Christian leaders are

delighted that Asiwaju

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has

not only heeded to their

demands but responded

accordingly.

They had argued that

Moslems have

successively governed the

state since the inception

of democracy. It is just

fair and equitable to allow

a Christian to govern

Lagos, given the fact that

successive governors of

the state since 1999 that

democracy returned have

been Moslems. Besides,

they argued that the three

Senatorial seats are

occupied by Moslems.

The call for a Christian

governor, observers of

politics in the state

reasoned is not to ignite

any religious crisis but to

ensure balance and

equity.

Observers opined that the

efforts of successive

administrations in the

state in areas of

governance,

accountability and

reliability are not and

should not be exclusive of

faith or religion.

A thoroughbred candidate

like Gbeleyi, they posited,

is equally suitable for the

exalted post. With his

pedigree and insights in

public service, finance,

procurement, construction,

project management, etc,

he is, no doubt, a round

peg in a round hole. It

could be recalled that he

single-handedly planned

and made a major

breakthrough with his

well-thoughout Public

Private Partnership (PPP)

initiative in Lagos. While

he served as the Director-

General of the parastatal,

he also doubled as the

Senior Adviser to the

Executive Governor

Babatunde Raji Fashola

on the project.

Over time, his visionary

leadership amid pressure,

necessity and even

adversity on several

projects in his purview

yielded unprecedented

positivity and growth that

sooner than ever, Lagos

becomes an envy spot in

PPP. Commendable is his

ability to work seamlessly

with the Ministries

Department Agencies

(MDAs) to realise and

institutionalise Lagos of

our dream and the

government strides to

make the state a Megacity

is achieved.

The beauty and elegance

we see in the services of

the Bus Rapid Transit,

(BRT), Lekki-Epe Toll

Concession, the

Independent Power Plant,

Oluwole and Tejuoso

Market Developments,

Adeniran Ogunsanya Ultra

Modern Shopping and

Retail Commercial Centres

are some of the lofty

ideas he has shared and

executed with the support

of the purposeful

leadership in the saddle of

governance in the state.

Asiwaju Tinubu, after wide

consultations with all

interest groups and

political blocs in the state,

is optimistic that Gbeleyi

with his background can

effortlessly manage the

internally generated

revenue of over N18billion

of the state and continue

in the stride of previous

governments to make

Lagos an enviable

commercial base.

It takes a visionary leader

to fish out a promising

successor.

Asiwaju, from all

ramifications have proven

that he knows one when

he sees one. His ability

and confidence in his

choice of BRF as his

successor has proven his

insightful leadership. He

will not go wrong with

Ayo Gbeleyi.

According to reliable

sources, Gbeleyi, in

readiness for the task

ahead, has not only

received the nod of top

ans formidable

stakeholders in politics, he

has built a financial war

chest to prosecute his

electionering campaign.

His readiness from all

fronts, our sources hinted,

gives Asiwaju a strong

conviction that he is the

man for the job and other

contenders are

pretenders. He has also

built a formidable media

team to actualise his

dream.

For Gbeleyi, it has been a

calculated rise to the top.

His recent appointment on

the recommendation of

his immediate past boss,

the former Finance

Commissioner, Hon.

Tokunbo Abiru, the

express approval by the

Executive Governor

Babatunde Raji Fashola

and the state's Assembly

speak volume of his

character and disposition

towards public service.

With his record of

service, wisdom and

support from all

stakeholders and the

people of Lagos State,

Hon. Ayo Gbeleyi is

poised to steer the ship of

the state to greater

heights.
